2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the binoculars and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the binoculars for any signs of damage. Ensure all components, including lens caps, neck strap, and cleaning cloth, are present.

2.2 Adjusting Interpupillary Distance

Hold the binoculars with both hands and look through them. Adjust the distance between the two barrels by moving them closer together or further apart until you see a single, circular field of view. This ensures proper alignment with your eyes.

2.3 Adjusting Eyecups

The eyecups can be adjusted to accommodate users with or without eyeglasses. Twist the eyecups up for use without eyeglasses, and twist them down for use with eyeglasses. This allows for the full field of view to be visible.

2.4 Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment compensates for differences in vision between your left and right eyes. Follow these steps:

  1. Close your right eye or cover the right objective lens.
  2. Look through the binoculars with your left eye at a distant object.
  3. Rotate the central focus wheel until the image is sharp for your left eye.
  4. Close your left eye or cover the left objective lens.
  5. Look through the binoculars with your right eye.
  6. Rotate the diopter adjustment ring (usually on the right eyepiece) until the image is sharp for your right eye.
  7. With both eyes open, the image should now be sharp. Future focusing will only require adjusting the central focus wheel.

2.5 Attaching the Neck Strap

Thread the neck strap through the strap lugs on the sides of the binocular body. Ensure the strap is securely fastened and adjusted to a comfortable length for carrying.

3. Operation

3.1 Holding the Binoculars

Hold the binoculars firmly with both hands. For extended viewing, brace your elbows against your body or use a stable surface to minimize shaking and improve image stability.

3.2 Focusing Procedure

Once the interpupillary distance and diopter are set, use the central focus wheel to bring objects at varying distances into sharp focus. Turn the wheel slowly for precise adjustment.

3.3 Observing Techniques

When observing moving objects, it is often easier to locate the object with your naked eye first, then bring the binoculars up to your eyes while keeping the object in view. Scan slowly and deliberately to avoid missing details.

3.4 Tripod Compatibility

For prolonged observation or maximum stability, these binoculars are tripod compatible. A tripod adapter (sold separately) can be screwed into the threaded port, typically located under a cap on the front hinge of the binoculars, allowing attachment to a standard photographic tripod.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning Lenses

To clean the lenses, first use a soft brush or compressed air to remove any loose dust or debris. Then, use a clean microfiber lens cloth and a specialized lens cleaning solution. Apply a small amount of solution to the cloth, not directly to the lens, and gently wipe in a circular motion. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

4.2 Cleaning Body

Wipe the binocular body with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. Ensure no moisture enters the optical system.

4.3 Storage

Store the binoculars in their protective case when not in use. Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing them in areas with high humidity to prevent mold growth.

4.4 Waterproof and Fogproof Care

These binoculars are designed to be waterproof and fogproof. While they can withstand exposure to moisture, avoid submerging them in water for extended periods. If they become wet, wipe them dry with a soft cloth before storing. Do not attempt to disassemble the binoculars, as this will compromise their waterproof and fogproof seals.
