- Starting the Trimmer: With the battery installed, press and hold the safety lock-off button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch to start the motor. Release the lock-off button once the motor starts.
- Trimming Technique: Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands. Use a sweeping motion, moving the cutting head from side to side. Keep the cutting line parallel to the ground for an even cut.
- Line Advancement: If the cutting line becomes too short, tap the trimmer head gently on the ground while the motor is running to advance more line. Do not tap excessively.
- Stopping the Trimmer: Release the trigger switch to stop the motor. For extended breaks or when finished, remove the battery from the trimmer.
- Working Area: Clear the area of any obstacles, rocks, or debris that could be thrown or damage the cutting line.

- Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store the battery fully discharged for long periods.
- Storage: Store the string trimmer in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. If storing for an extended period, remove the battery.
