Setup

1. Battery Installation

The T605 radio supports dual power options: a rechargeable NiMH battery pack (included) or 2 AA alkaline batteries (included). Ensure the radio is powered off before installing or replacing batteries.

Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
Press down on the latch and slide the cover off.
Insert the rechargeable NiMH battery pack, ensuring the contacts align correctly, or insert 2 AA alkaline batteries according to the polarity markings (+/-).
Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it until it clicks securely into place.

2. Charging the Batteries

The T605 radio can be charged via its micro-USB port. A charging cable is included.

Locate the micro-USB charging port on the side of the radio, typically protected by a rubber flap.
Open the rubber flap and insert the micro-USB connector into the port.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port).
The battery indicator on the radio's display will show charging status.
Once fully charged, disconnect the cable and close the rubber flap to maintain water resistance.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

To power on: Rotate the On/Off/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click and the display illuminates.
To power off: Rotate the On/Off/Volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the display turns off.

2. Adjusting Volume

Rotate the On/Off/Volume knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.

3. Selecting Channels and Privacy Codes

The T605 has 22 channels and 121 privacy codes. To communicate with another radio, both radios must be set to the same channel and privacy code.

Press the Menu button until the channel number flashes.
Use the + or - buttons to select the desired channel (1-22).
Press the Menu button again until the privacy code flashes.
Use the + or - buttons to select the desired privacy code (0-121).
Press the Menu button or wait for 3 seconds to confirm your selection.

4. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)

To transmit: Press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.
To receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The radio will automatically receive transmissions on the selected channel and privacy code.

5. Using the Flashlight

The T605 features a built-in flashlight with both white and red LED options.

To activate the white LED: Press the dedicated flashlight button (usually on the top or side).
To switch to red LED (for night vision preservation): Press the flashlight button again.
To turn off: Press the flashlight button a third time.
The flashlight also has a water-activated feature, which can be useful if the radio is dropped in water.

6. NOAA Weather Alerts

Stay informed about real-time weather conditions by accessing NOAA weather channels and alerts.

Press the Menu button repeatedly until the weather channel icon appears.
Use the + or - buttons to select one of the 11 available weather channels.
To enable weather alerts, navigate to the alert setting in the menu and activate it. The radio will then alert you to severe weather conditions.

7. Keypad Lock

The keypad lock prevents accidental changes to your radio settings.

To lock the keypad: Press and hold the Menu button until the lock icon appears on the display.
To unlock the keypad: Press and hold the Menu button again until the lock icon disappears.

IP67 Waterproof: The T605 H2O is designed to withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. It also floats, and the water-activated flashlight helps locate it if dropped in water.

Maintenance
