1. Introduction

The Mugast ZY-418 is a compact and versatile portable music player designed for ease of use and portability. It supports various media formats and includes features such as music playback, video playback, recording, e-book reading, and a built-in stopwatch function. Its frosted material body provides an anti-slip grip, making it comfortable to handle.

This manual provides detailed instructions on how to set up, operate, and maintain your ZY-418 music player.

2. Package Contents

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

1. Locate the USB charging port at the bottom of the device.
2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the player and then to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
3. When the MP4 switch is set to ON, the status light will start flashing, indicating that charging is in progress.
4. A full charge takes approximately 90 minutes.

4.2 Inserting a Memory Card

The ZY-418 requires a memory card (up to 32GB, not included) to store media files.

1. Locate the TF-CARD slot on the side of the device.
2. Gently insert a compatible memory card into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is oriented correctly.
3. To remove the card, gently push it in until it clicks, then release, and it will spring out.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

• To power on, slide the ON/OFF switch (located at the bottom) to the ON position.
• To power off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.

5.2 Basic Navigation

Use the circular buttons on the front of the device for navigation:

• Central Button: Play/Pause, Confirm selection.
• Left/Right Buttons: Navigate through menus, skip tracks (during playback).
• Up/Down Buttons (M/VOL): Adjust volume (when in playback mode), navigate up/down in menus.
• M Button: Menu button, typically used to go back or access options within an application.

5.3 Music Playback

1. From the main menu, select the Music icon.
2. Navigate to your desired song or album.
3. Press the central button to play.
4. To pause, press the central button again.
5. Use the left/right buttons to skip to the previous/next song.
6. Adjust volume using the VOL button (down arrow) and the M button (up arrow, when acting as volume up).

5.4 Video Playback

The player supports AMV video format.

1. From the main menu, select the Video icon.
2. Browse and select your video file.
3. Press the central button to start playback.

5.5 E-Book Reading

1. From the main menu, select the EBook icon.
2. Select the text file you wish to read.
3. Use the navigation buttons to scroll through pages.

5.6 Recording

1. From the main menu, select the REC (Recording) icon.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to start, pause, and save recordings.

5.7 Settings Menu

Access various device settings through the Set icon on the main menu.

• Replay: Adjust playback modes.
• Backlight: Control screen brightness and backlight timeout.
• Power Off: Set auto power-off timer.
• Language: Change the device language.
• About: View device information.
• Reset Settings: Restore factory default settings.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
• Storage: Store the player in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
• Avoid Drops: The frosted material provides grip, but avoid dropping the device to prevent internal damage.
