1. Introduction

The thermally insulated Cromargan® housing with WMF Safety Touch ensures safe operation, while the integrated cable winder allows for compact storage.

2. Safety Instructions

• Always read all instructions before use.
• Ensure the voltage indicated on the appliance matches your local mains voltage before connecting.

4. Setup and Before First Use

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

1. Remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from the appliance.
2. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
3. Wash the removable cooking plates (waffle and sandwich) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The plates are also dishwasher-safe.

4.2 Installing the Cooking Plates

1. Ensure the appliance is unplugged and cool.
2. Select the desired plate set (waffle or sandwich).
3. Align the tabs on the back of each plate with the slots in the appliance base and lid.
4. Gently press the front of the plate down until it clicks securely into place. Ensure both plates are firmly seated.

4.3 Initial Heating (Seasoning)

Before first use, it is recommended to perform an initial heating cycle to burn off any manufacturing residues.

1. With the desired plates installed, close the appliance.
2. Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet. The red indicator light will illuminate, indicating heating.
3. Allow the appliance to heat for approximately 5-10 minutes until the white indicator light illuminates, signaling it has reached the operating temperature.
4. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely.
5. Wipe the plates with a damp cloth. The appliance is now ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 General Operation

1. Ensure the correct plates are installed for your desired snack (waffle or sandwich).
2. Close the appliance and plug it into a power outlet. The red indicator light will turn on.
3. Wait for the white indicator light to illuminate, indicating the appliance has reached its optimal cooking temperature.
4. Carefully open the appliance using the handle.
5. Place your food onto the bottom plate.
6. Close the lid. The variable handle lock allows for 2-level height adjustment, accommodating different food thicknesses.
7. Cook until desired doneness is achieved. The white indicator light may cycle on and off during cooking to maintain temperature.
8. Once cooked, carefully remove the food using a heat-resistant, non-metallic utensil to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
9. Unplug the appliance after use.

5.2 Specific Use: Waffles

For best results, use a standard waffle batter. You may lightly grease the plates with cooking spray or a small amount of oil before adding batter, especially for the first batch.

1. Install the waffle plates and preheat the appliance as described in Section 5.1.
2. Pour approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter onto the center of the bottom waffle plate. Do not overfill.
3. Close the lid gently.
4. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown and steam no longer escapes from the sides. Cooking time may vary based on batter consistency and desired crispness.
5. Carefully remove the waffle.

5.3 Specific Use: Sandwiches/Panini

For best results, use bread that is not too thick. You can lightly butter or oil the outside of the bread for a crispier finish.

1. Install the sandwich/panini plates and preheat the appliance as described in Section 5.1.
2. Place your assembled sandwich onto the center of the bottom plate.
3. Close the lid, adjusting the variable handle lock to accommodate the thickness of your sandwich.
4. Cook for 3-6 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the fillings are heated through and cheese is melted (if applicable).
5. Carefully remove the sandwich.

6.1 Cleaning the Cooking Plates

1. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
