5. Setup Guide

5.1. Battery Installation

5.3. Powering On/Off

  • To turn ON: Press and hold the Power button on the top of the transmitter until the indicator light illuminates.
  • To turn OFF: Press and hold the Power button again until the indicator light turns off.

5.4. Pairing with Receiver (IR Sync)

For automatic frequency synchronization with your Concert 288 receiver:

  1. Ensure both the CB288 transmitter and the Concert 288 receiver are powered on.
  2. On the Concert 288 receiver, initiate the IR sync function (refer to your receiver's manual for specific instructions).
  3. Align the IR sensor on the CB288 transmitter (located inside the battery compartment) with the IR window on the receiver.
  4. Hold them steady until the frequencies are successfully matched. The transmitter's indicator light may change or flash to confirm synchronization.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Gain Control

The gain control adjusts the input sensitivity of the transmitter. This is crucial for preventing distortion and ensuring optimal audio quality.

  • Open the battery compartment.
  • Use a small screwdriver or a similar tool to carefully turn the GAIN knob.
  • Adjust the gain while speaking or playing at your typical performance level. Monitor the audio level on your receiver to ensure it is strong but not clipping (distorting).

6.2. Mute Function

The Mute button allows you to temporarily silence the audio transmission without turning off the unit.

  • Press the Mute button once to mute the audio. The indicator light may change color or flash to indicate mute status.
  • Press the Mute button again to unmute the audio.

6.3. Wearing the Beltpack

Attach the CB288 transmitter securely to your belt, waistband, or instrument strap using the integrated belt clip. Ensure the antenna has a clear line of sight to the receiver for optimal signal strength.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the transmitter. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
