Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your RetroN 3 HD console:

1. Connect to a Display

  • HDMI Connection (Recommended for HD displays):

    Connect one end of the included HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the back of the RetroN 3 HD console and the other end to an available HDMI input on your television or monitor.

  • AV Connection (For CRT TVs or older displays):

    Connect a standard AV cable (not included) to the yellow (video), white (left audio), and red (right audio) ports on the back of the console. Connect the other end to the corresponding AV inputs on your television.

2. Connect Power

Connect the Micro USB power cable to the Micro USB port on the back of the console. Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet.

3. Connect Controllers

Plug the included Hyperkin controllers into the appropriate controller ports on the front of the console. The console features ports for NES, Super NES, and Genesis controllers. You can also use original controllers for each system.

4. Insert Game Cartridge

Carefully insert your desired game cartridge into the corresponding slot on the top of the console. Ensure the cartridge is fully seated. The console has dedicated slots for NES, Super NES, and Genesis cartridges.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On and Off

Press the POWER button located on the front of the console to turn it on. Press it again to turn the console off.

2. Selecting Console Type

Use the selector switch on the front of the console to choose between NES, Genesis, or Super NES modes. Ensure the switch matches the type of cartridge you have inserted.

3. Aspect Ratio Adjustment

A switch on the rear of the console allows you to toggle between 4:3 (original aspect ratio) and 16:9 (widescreen) display modes. Select the aspect ratio that best suits your preference and display.

4. NTSC/PAL Region Selection

On the underside of the console, there is an NTSC/PAL switch. Set this switch according to the region format of your game cartridge to ensure proper compatibility and display.

5. Resetting the Console

Press the RESET button on the front of the console to restart the currently running game.

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your RetroN 3 HD console.

  • Cleaning the Console: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the console. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Cartridge Care: Ensure game cartridges are clean before insertion. Dust or debris on cartridge connectors can prevent games from loading correctly. Use a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean cartridge pins if necessary, allowing them to dry completely before use.
