2. Initial Setup

2.1. Battery Installation

Your scale requires 3 AAA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2. Unit Selection (lbs/kg)

The scale can display weight in pounds (lb) or kilograms (kg). To switch between units:

  1. Turn the scale over to access the underside.
  2. Locate the unit switch (often a small button or slider) near the battery compartment.
  3. Toggle the switch to select your preferred unit of measurement (lb or kg).

Once selected, the display will show the chosen unit when the scale is activated.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. First Use & Calibration

For the most accurate readings, it is recommended to calibrate the scale before its first use or if it has been moved.

  1. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface. Avoid carpets or uneven flooring.
  2. Step onto the scale briefly, then step off. The display will show "0.0" or a similar indication, then turn off. This calibrates the scale.

3.2. Taking a Measurement

The AccuCheck scale features "step-on" technology, eliminating the need to tap or wait for zeroing.

  1. Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface.
  2. Step onto the center of the scale with bare, dry feet. Stand still.
  3. The display will show your weight. The AccuCheck system will then double-check the reading, indicated by a change in the display (e.g., from orange to green indicator).
  4. Once the final, verified weight is displayed, you can step off. The reading will remain visible for a few seconds before the scale automatically shuts off.
