Connect the Ethernet cable from your network infrastructure (router or switch) to the LAN port of the GWN7630LR. This connection provides both power and data connectivity to the access point.

5. Configuration and Operating

5.1 Accessing the Web User Interface (UI)

  1. Ensure your computer is connected to the same network as the GWN7630LR.
  2. Open a web browser and enter the default IP address of the GWN7630LR (usually found in the Quick Installation Guide or discovered via Grandstream's GWN Discovery Tool). If DHCP is enabled on your network, the AP will obtain an IP address automatically.
  3. Log in using the default administrator credentials. It is highly recommended to change the default password immediately after the first login.

5.2 Basic Wi-Fi Configuration

Once logged into the Web UI, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings to configure your wireless networks (SSIDs). You can set up multiple SSIDs, choose security protocols (WPA2/WPA3 recommended), and define bandwidth limits.

The GWN7630LR supports advanced features such as MU-MIMO for efficient multi-device communication, beamforming for improved signal strength, and seamless roaming. It can be managed as a standalone unit, via its embedded controller (managing up to 50 local GWN series APs), or through Grandstream's cloud-based GWN.Cloud platform for unlimited AP management.
