4. Operating the Lens
Zooming
Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the focal length from 24mm (wide-angle) to 200mm (telephoto). The lens extends as you zoom towards the telephoto end.
Zoom Ring Lock
The lens features a zoom ring lock switch. When the lens is retracted to 24mm, slide the LOCK switch to prevent the lens from extending unintentionally during transport or storage.
Focusing
The lens supports both autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF). The customizable control ring can be assigned to adjust focus, aperture, or exposure compensation via the camera's menu. For manual focus, rotate the control ring to achieve desired sharpness.
Vibration Reduction (VR)
This lens incorporates built-in Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization. When enabled, VR helps reduce blur caused by camera shake, allowing for sharper images, especially in low light or at longer focal lengths. VR works in conjunction with the in-body image stabilization system of compatible Nikon Z series cameras.

5. Maintenance
Cleaning the Lens
- Use a blower brush to remove dust and loose particles from the lens surface.
- For stubborn smudges or fingerprints, apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to a clean microfiber cloth and gently wipe the lens in a circular motion.
- Never use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
Storage
- When not in use, attach the front and rear lens caps.
- Store the lens in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for an extended period, consider using a desiccant to prevent mold and mildew.
6. Troubleshooting
Lens not focusing:
- Ensure the camera's focus mode is set to AF (autofocus) or MF (manual focus) as desired.
- Check for sufficient light in the scene.
- Clean the lens contacts on both the lens and camera body.
Images are blurry:
- Verify that the lens is properly focused.
