1. Introduction

The NORDISK Troms Mesh Cabin is a functional inner tent designed for outdoor use, offering protection from insects and elements while sleeping under a tarp or in open environments. It is compatible with Nordisk Voss tarps and provides a comfortable space for up to two people. Its lightweight and compact design makes it ideal for camping and hiking adventures.

2. Safety Information

• Always inspect the product for damage before each use.
• Do not use near open flames or heat sources. The material is nylon and can melt or burn.
• Ensure proper ventilation to prevent condensation buildup.
• Securely stake down all corners and guy lines to prevent the mesh cabin from being lifted by wind.
• Avoid setting up in areas prone to falling debris or flash floods.
• Keep out of reach of small children when not in use.

4. Setup Instructions

The Troms Mesh Cabin can be set up using various methods, including dedicated poles, natural branches, or by suspending it between two trees. For optimal stability, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with a tarp, such as the Nordisk Voss series.

4.1. Preparation

1. Unpack the mesh cabin from its storage bag and lay it flat on the ground in your desired setup location.
2. Identify the four corners and the two entrance points.

4.2. Pitching with Poles (Recommended)

If using poles (not included), a minimum of six poles are required for a stable setup.

1. Insert a pole into each of the four corner grommets.
2. Insert one pole into each of the two central grommets located at the peak of the entrance flaps.
3. Extend the poles to their full height, lifting the mesh cabin.
4. Secure each pole base with a stake (not included) to the ground.
5. Attach guy lines (not included) to the designated loops on the mesh cabin and stake them out to create tension and stability. Ensure the lines are taut.

4.3. Pitching with Natural Supports

For a more minimalist setup, the mesh cabin can be suspended using branches or between two trees.

1. Identify sturdy branches or two trees that can support the mesh cabin's weight and provide adequate height.
2. Use ropes or cordage (not included) to tie off the four corner loops and the two central peak loops to the chosen supports.
3. Adjust the tension to lift the mesh cabin off the ground and create a taut structure.
4. Secure the base of the mesh cabin to the ground using stakes (not included) if necessary for added stability.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Entry and Exit

The Troms Mesh Cabin features two zippered entrances for convenient access. Unzip the desired entrance fully to enter or exit. Ensure zippers are closed completely to prevent insects from entering.

5.2. Ventilation

The mesh construction provides excellent airflow, minimizing condensation and maintaining a comfortable internal temperature. In humid conditions, ensure adequate air circulation around the mesh cabin by positioning it appropriately.

5.3. Compatibility with Tarps

This mesh cabin is designed to be used under a tarp for full weather protection. It is specifically compatible with Nordisk Voss tarps, allowing for a seamless and integrated shelter system. The two entrances are designed to align with tarp configurations.

6. Maintenance and Care

6.1. Cleaning

• Clean the mesh cabin with a soft cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach.
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used gently on the nylon fabric.

6.2. Drying

Always ensure the mesh cabin is completely dry before packing it away. Packing a damp or wet mesh cabin can lead to mildew, odor, and damage to the fabric.

• Air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as UV rays can degrade the fabric over time.

6.3. Storage

• Store the clean and dry mesh cabin in its original storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Avoid storing in damp basements or attics.
