Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Futaba 7PXR 7-Channel 2.4GHz T-FHSS Radio System, including the R334SBS receiver. The 7PXR is designed for advanced remote control applications, offering high performance and a range of customizable features.
Key features include a HVGA 4.3-inch full-color backlit LCD touch screen, which is transflective for visibility both indoors and outdoors. It supports T-FHSS telemetry and introduces the T-FHSS SR (Super Response) system for enhanced processing speed and response. Note that the SR system does not support telemetry functions.
The system allows for software updates and model data storage via microSD card. Telemetry log data can also be saved. Model names can be up to 15 characters long, including numbers and symbols, allowing for logical naming. The model copy function enables creation of different setup models.
Future updates to the T7PX itself are possible via NFC communication. The wheel section can be reversed for left-handed users. It features a dual-purpose dial (DL1) and push switch (PS6) function. Independent brake mixing for front and rear wheels is available for 1/5 gas power cars and other large vehicles. A 4WS function is included for crawler type vehicles. Futaba car rate gyro sensitivity can be adjusted directly from the T7PXR.
LED lighting and flashing control using our CPS-1 channel power switch can be matched only to steering and throttle operations via switch. This dedicated function allows the T7PXR to control variable frequencies and other data changes of Futaba speed controllers (ESC) such as MC960CR, MC950CR, MC850C, MC851C, MC602C, MC402CR, etc., by setting the Link software.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
The 7PXR transmitter can be powered by a Ni-MH NT5F1800B (6V) battery or a LiFe FT2F1700BV2 (6.6V) battery. Insert the chosen battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity. If using the dry battery holder, insert the specified number of dry cells.
2. Receiver Binding
To establish communication between the transmitter and the R334SBS receiver, a binding process is required. Refer to the detailed binding instructions in the separate R334SBS receiver manual for specific steps. Ensure both devices are powered on and in binding mode.
3. Initial Setup and Calibration
Upon first power-on, the transmitter may guide you through initial setup steps. This typically includes calibrating the steering wheel and throttle trigger. Follow the on-screen prompts on the HVGA 4.3-inch LCD touch screen. Adjust the wheel offset adapter and wheel adapter 32 degrees as needed for comfortable handling.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
To power on the transmitter, press and hold the power button until the screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the shutdown sequence completes. Note: Bright dots may appear on the screen when the 7PXR is turned on. This is normal for TFT displays manufactured with high-precision technology.
2. Menu Navigation
The 7PXR features a touch screen interface for intuitive menu navigation. Tap icons and options to access various settings. Use the dial (DL1) and push switch (PS6) for quick adjustments and selections.
3. Model Management
The transmitter supports multiple model memories. You can create, copy, and delete model profiles. Use the model copy function to duplicate settings for similar vehicles or to experiment with different configurations. Model names can be customized up to 15 characters.
4. Advanced Functions
- T-FHSS SR System: Utilize the Super Response system for faster control response. Remember that telemetry is not supported in SR mode.
- Brake Mixing: Independently adjust front and rear brake mixing for 1/5 scale gas power cars and other large vehicles.
- 4WS Function: For crawler vehicles, enable and configure the 4-wheel steering function.
- Gyro Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity of Futaba car rate gyros directly from the T7PXR.
- ESC Link Software: Control variable frequencies and other data changes of compatible Futaba speed controllers (ESC) like MC960CR, MC950CR, MC850C, MC851C, MC602C, MC402CR.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the transmitter's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For the touch screen, use a screen-specific cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or screen.
2. Software Updates
Periodically check the Futaba official website for firmware updates. Updates can be performed via a microSD card. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance and access to new features.
3. Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the transmitter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for several months to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and charged. Check battery contacts for corrosion.
- No Response from Vehicle: Verify that the transmitter and receiver are properly bound. Check battery levels in both the transmitter and the vehicle. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Intermittent Control: Check for potential radio interference. Ensure the antenna on both the transmitter and receiver is unobstructed and properly positioned.
- Screen Issues: If bright dots appear on the screen, this is a normal characteristic of TFT displays and not a defect. If the screen is unresponsive, try restarting the transmitter.
- Software Update Failure: Ensure the microSD card is properly formatted and the update file is correctly placed. Follow update instructions precisely.
