4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials, including protective films and tapes.
  2. Place the appliance on a firm, level floor. Ensure there is adequate ventilation space around the unit (at least 10 cm at the back and sides, and 30 cm above).
  3. Avoid placing the refrigerator in direct sunlight or near heat sources like stoves or radiators, as this will increase energy consumption.

4.2 Leveling the Appliance

Use the adjustable feet at the bottom front of the appliance to level it. A level appliance ensures proper door alignment and efficient operation.

4.3 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, clean the interior and exterior of the appliance with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.

4.4 Power Connection

After placement and leveling, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging the appliance into a grounded electrical outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

4.5 Door Reversal (Optional)

The doors of the FBM250NE4 are reversible. If you need to change the door opening direction, refer to the detailed instructions provided in the separate door reversal kit or contact customer support. This process involves carefully detaching and reattaching hinges and handles.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Temperature Control

The refrigerator features an electronic temperature control panel located inside the fresh food compartment. Press the "SET" button to cycle through available temperature settings. The display will show the selected temperature (e.g., 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 °C). Lower numbers indicate colder temperatures.

  • Recommended Refrigerator Temperature: 4°C to 5°C for general use.
  • Freezer Temperature: The freezer compartment maintains a consistent temperature suitable for freezing and long-term storage of frozen foods, typically -18°C or colder, thanks to the No Frost system.

5.2 Food Storage Guidelines

  • Refrigerator Compartment: Store fresh foods such as dairy products, cooked foods, beverages, and fruits/vegetables in their designated areas (e.g., Crisper Box).
  • Freezer Compartment: Suitable for freezing fresh food and storing pre-frozen items. Ensure food is properly wrapped to prevent freezer burn.
  • Do not place hot food directly into the refrigerator or freezer. Allow it to cool down to room temperature first.
  • Avoid overloading the compartments to ensure proper air circulation and cooling efficiency.

5.3 Door Open Alarm

The appliance is equipped with a door open alarm. If the refrigerator door is left open for an extended period, an audible alert will sound to remind you to close it, helping to maintain internal temperature and save energy.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Interior

Regularly clean the interior of your refrigerator freezer to prevent odors and maintain hygiene.

  1. Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  2. Remove all food items and removable parts (shelves, drawers).
  3. Wash interior surfaces and removable parts with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  4. Rinse thoroughly and dry all parts before returning them to the appliance.

6.2 Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For the dark stainless steel finish, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for stainless steel if necessary. Keep the condenser coils at the back of the appliance clean to ensure efficient operation; dust can be removed with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner attachment.

6.3 No Frost System

The CHiQ FBM250NE4 features a No Frost system, which automatically prevents ice build-up in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. This means manual defrosting is not required. Ensure that the air vents inside the compartments are not blocked by food items to allow the system to function effectively.
