2. Setup Instructions

2.1 Unboxing and Inspection

• Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
• Verify that all parts are present and undamaged. Refer to the packing list for a complete inventory.

2.2 Battery Installation

The sensor lid requires 6 AA batteries for operation. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 6 AA batteries, observing the polarity markings (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.3 Placement

Position the waste separation system on a flat, stable surface. The unit is suitable for various indoor environments such as kitchens, living rooms, or offices.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Sensor Lid Operation (Upper Compartment)

The large upper compartment features an automatic sensor lid for hygienic, touch-free operation.

1. To open the lid, place your hand approximately 10-15 cm above the sensor located on the front of the lid.
2. The lid will open automatically.
3. After a few seconds of inactivity, the lid will close automatically.
4. For manual control, use the 'OPEN' and 'CLOSE' buttons next to the sensor. Press 'OPEN' to keep the lid open, and 'CLOSE' to close it.

3.2 Lower Compartment Operation

The lower compartment can be opened manually by pulling the drawer handle. It is equipped with wheels for smooth operation.

3.3 Waste Separation

The system is designed for efficient waste separation with multiple compartments:

• Upper Compartment (48 Litres): Ideal for general waste or recyclables. An inner ring secures the garbage bag in place. A 4-litre collection tray for green waste can be used here.
• Lower Compartment (2 x 12 Litres): Contains two separate inner containers, suitable for different types of recyclables such as plastic, paper, or glass. These containers are designed for standard 15-litre rubbish bags.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

The Homra Nexo is made from dirt-repellent and fingerprint-proof stainless steel, making it easy to clean.

• Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
• The inner bins can be removed and washed with soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before placing them back into the unit.

4.2 Battery Replacement

If the sensor lid becomes unresponsive or slow, it may be time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 2.2 for battery installation.

5. Troubleshooting

• Lid not opening/closing automatically:
  • Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient power. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor or the lid's movement.
  • Clean the sensor area to remove any dust or debris.
• Lid making unusual noises:
  • Ensure the lid mechanism is clean and free from debris.
  • Do not force the lid open or closed manually when the sensor is active.
• Lower drawer not sliding smoothly:
  • Check for any debris or obstructions under the wheels.
  • Ensure the unit is on a level surface.
