1. Introduction
The PAC APH-TY01 is a speaker connection harness designed to simplify the integration of aftermarket audio components into select 2005-2017 Toyota vehicles equipped with factory amplified sound systems. This harness provides a plug-and-play solution for connecting aftermarket speakers or amplifiers without cutting or modifying the vehicle's original wiring.
2. Safety Information
- Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before beginning any electrical installation to prevent short circuits and damage.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to avoid electrical shorts.
- Consult a professional car audio installer if you are unsure about any part of the installation process.
- Do not force connectors. Ensure proper alignment before pushing them together.
- Route all wiring away from moving parts, sharp edges, and heat sources.
3. Package Contents
The PAC APH-TY01 package includes:
- One (1) PAC APH-TY01 Speaker Connection Harness (18 inches in length)

4. Compatibility
This harness is compatible with select 2005-2017 Toyota vehicles that are equipped with a factory amplified audio system. It features 10-pin and 12-pin connectors designed to interface with the vehicle's existing speaker wiring. This harness is often used in conjunction with other PAC interfaces, such as the AP4-TY11, for a complete audio system upgrade.
5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of the APH-TY01 speaker connection harness:
- Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Locate Factory Amplifier: Identify the location of your vehicle's factory amplifier. This is typically found under a seat, behind the dashboard, or in the trunk. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for exact location.
- Connect Male Harness: Connect the male 10-pin and 12-pin connectors from the APH-TY01 harness directly into the corresponding female connectors of the vehicle's factory speaker harness, which were previously connected to the factory amplifier.
- Connect to Factory Speakers (if retaining): If you are retaining the factory speakers, connect the female 10-pin and 12-pin connectors from the APH-TY01 harness to the factory amplifier's speaker output ports. This routes the amplifier's signal through the APH-TY01 to the factory speakers.
- Connect to Aftermarket Speakers/Amplifier (if replacing): If you are replacing the factory speakers or integrating an aftermarket amplifier, connect the female 10-pin and 12-pin connectors from the APH-TY01 harness to the inputs of your aftermarket amplifier or passive crossovers. The bare wire leads on the APH-TY01 will then connect to your aftermarket speakers.
- Insulate Unused Wires: Properly insulate any unused wires on the harness with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing to prevent short circuits.
- Secure Wiring: Route and secure all wiring to prevent rattles and damage.
- Reconnect Battery: Once all connections are made and secured, reconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Test System: Turn on the vehicle and test the audio system to ensure proper functionality.

6. Operation
The PAC APH-TY01 is a passive speaker connection harness. Once installed, it facilitates the proper routing of audio signals between your vehicle's factory wiring and aftermarket audio components. It does not require any user interaction or configuration after installation. Its function is to provide a clean and reliable electrical connection.
7. Maintenance
The APH-TY01 harness requires minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the connections to ensure they remain secure and free from corrosion or damage. If any wiring appears frayed or damaged, it should be replaced immediately by a qualified technician.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Sound:
- Verify all connections are secure and properly seated.
- Ensure the vehicle's battery is reconnected and fully charged.
- Check the functionality of the aftermarket amplifier or speakers.
- Confirm the APH-TY01 is correctly connected to the factory speaker harness and amplifier.
- Distorted Sound:
- Inspect wiring for any signs of damage or improper insulation that could cause interference.
- Ensure the aftermarket components are properly configured and compatible with the vehicle's system.
- Intermittent Sound:
- Check for loose connections at all points, including the harness, amplifier, and speakers.
- Ensure the harness is not being pinched or stressed by vehicle panels.
