1. Introduction

The Godox DP600III is a powerful 600Ws professional studio flash designed for high-quality photography. It features a consistent color temperature, rapid recycle times, and versatile power control, making it suitable for various studio applications. 2. Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety precautions before using this product to prevent injury to yourself or others and damage to the unit. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Do not disassemble or modify the unit. If the product fails, it must be repaired by an authorized maintenance center.
  • Keep this product dry. Do not handle with wet hands or immerse in water.
  • Do not use the flash unit in the presence of flammable gases, chemicals, or other materials.
  • The flash tube and modeling lamp can become very hot during operation. Avoid touching them immediately after use.
  • Always disconnect the power cable before cleaning or performing maintenance.
  • Ensure the unit is properly grounded.
  • Do not point the flash directly at human or animal eyes from a close distance.

3. What's in the Box

4. Setup

4.1 Attaching to a Light Stand

Mount the DP600III onto a standard light stand using the integrated mounting bracket. Secure it by tightening the locking knob on the bracket.

4.2 Installing the Flash Tube and Modeling Lamp

Carefully insert the flash tube and modeling lamp into their respective sockets. Ensure they are seated firmly. Always use the lamp cover when transporting or storing the unit to protect the bulbs.

4.3 Connecting Power

Connect the provided power cable to the power input on the rear of the flash unit and then to a suitable AC power outlet (AC200-240V~50/60Hz). Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Flip the power switch located on the rear panel to turn the unit ON or OFF.

5.2 Adjusting Flash Power

The flash output can be adjusted from 1/32 to full power (1/1) in 50 precise steps. Use the dial on the control panel to increase or decrease the power level. The current power setting is displayed on the LCD screen.

5.3 Modeling Lamp Modes

The 150W modeling lamp can be set to three modes:

  • OFF: Modeling lamp is off.
  • PROP (Proportional): The modeling lamp's brightness adjusts proportionally to the flash power setting.
  • PERCENTAGE: The modeling lamp's brightness can be manually set to a specific percentage.

Press the modeling lamp button to cycle through these modes.

5.4 Wireless Control System

The DP600III features a built-in Godox 2.4G Wireless X System receiver. This allows for remote control of flash power, modeling lamp, and other functions using a compatible Godox X-series transmitter (e.g., XT2, XPro, XT32, FT-16, sold separately).

  • Group (GR) and Channel (CH) Settings: Use the GR/CH button and dial to set the desired group and channel for wireless communication. Ensure your transmitter is set to the same group and channel.
  • Wireless ID Setting: For advanced interference avoidance, set a unique Wireless ID (01-99) on both the flash and the transmitter.

5.5 Sync Modes (S1/S2)

The DP600III supports S1 and S2 optical slave modes for triggering by another flash. Press the S1/S2 button to activate these modes.

  • S1 Mode: The flash will fire in response to the first flash from a master flash. Suitable for manual flash.
  • S2 Mode: The flash will ignore the first pre-flash from a master flash (e.g., TTL flash) and fire on the second flash.

5.6 Custom Functions (C.Fn)

The unit includes custom functions for advanced settings. Refer to the detailed manual (available online) for a complete list and instructions on adjusting C.Fn settings.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity. Always attach the lamp cover to protect the flash tube and modeling lamp during storage and transport.
  • Bulb Replacement: If the flash tube or modeling lamp needs replacement, ensure the unit is unplugged and cooled down. Carefully remove the old bulb and insert the new one, avoiding direct contact with the glass part of the new bulb.

7. Troubleshooting
