1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the McGrey BP-210 Bandpack PA System. This portable and versatile sound system is designed for various applications, including rehearsals, meetings, small stages, and presentations. It features a 4-channel mixer with digital reverb, Bluetooth connectivity, USB/SD media player, and two 10-inch passive speakers. This manual provides essential information for safe and effective use of your new PA system.

2. Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the device. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Power Supply: Connect the unit only to the specified power source. Ensure the voltage matches the requirements.
  • Ventilation: Do not block ventilation openings. Ensure adequate airflow around the unit.
  • Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or liquids.
  • Heat Sources: Keep the unit away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other heat-producing appliances.
  • Cables: Protect power cords from being walked on or pinched.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Placement: Ensure speakers are placed on stable surfaces or stands to prevent tipping.

4. Product Overview

4.1. Power Mixer

The BP-210 power mixer features a clear control panel for easy mixing of 4 channels. It includes effective sound control and a digital reverb effect. The integrated media player supports Bluetooth, USB, and SD card playback.

4.2. Speakers

The two passive 2-way speakers are equipped with a 10-inch woofer and a tweeter horn, delivering powerful sound. They feature handles, a speaker flange for stand mounting, and a robust carpet covering, making them suitable for frequent transport.

5. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Speaker Stand Assembly: Extend the speaker stands to a stable height and secure them.
  3. Speaker Placement: Mount the passive speakers onto the assembled speaker stands. Ensure they are stable and secure.
  4. Mixer Placement: Place the power mixer on a flat, stable surface, ensuring adequate ventilation.
  5. Connecting Speakers: Use the provided speaker cables to connect the "Speaker Out" jacks on the mixer to the "Input" jacks on each speaker. Ensure correct polarity.
  6. Connecting Microphone: Plug the dynamic microphone into one of the XLR or 6.35mm Jack inputs on the mixer.
  7. Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the mixer and then to a suitable power outlet. Do not power on yet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On/Off

  • Power On: Ensure all volume controls are at their minimum setting before turning on the mixer. Press the POWER switch.
  • Power Off: Turn down all volume controls before pressing the POWER switch to turn off the mixer.

6.2. Channel Controls (Channels 1-4)

Each channel features the following controls:

  • LEVEL: Adjusts the input volume for the channel.
  • TREBLE: Adjusts the high frequencies (±15 dB).
  • BASS: Adjusts the low frequencies (±15 dB).
  • EFFECT: Sends the channel signal to the digital reverb effect.

6.3. Digital Reverb Effect

The mixer includes a digital reverb effect. Use the EFFECT knob on each channel to send signal to the effect. The master effect controls are:

  • LEVEL: Adjusts the overall level of the reverb effect.
  • TIME: Adjusts the decay time of the reverb.
  • REPEAT: Adjusts the number of repetitions for the reverb tail.

6.4. Media Player (USB/SD/Bluetooth)

The integrated media player allows playback from USB drives, SD cards, or via Bluetooth.

  • USB/SD Playback: Insert a USB drive or SD card containing MP3 or WAV files into the respective slot. The player will automatically detect and begin playback. Use the media player controls (Play/Pause, Skip, Mode) or the remote control.
  • Bluetooth Connectivity:
    1. Press the MODE button on the media player until "Bluetooth" is selected.
    2. On your smartphone, tablet, or computer, search for Bluetooth devices and select "McGrey BP-210".
    3. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the PA system. Control playback from your device or the mixer's media player controls.

6.5. Master Volume

The main volume control adjusts the overall output level of the PA system. Always start with this control at minimum and gradually increase to the desired level.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the system in a dry, dust-free environment.
  • Cable Care: Regularly check cables for damage. Replace any frayed or damaged cables immediately.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No sound output Power not connected; Volume controls too low; Incorrect cable connections. Check power supply; Increase master and channel volumes; Verify all cables are securely connected.
Distorted sound Input level too high; Speaker cables damaged. Reduce channel or master volume; Check speaker cables for damage.
Bluetooth not connecting Mixer not in Bluetooth mode; Device too far; Interference. Ensure mixer is in Bluetooth mode; Move device closer; Restart Bluetooth on both devices.
USB/SD playback issues Unsupported file format; Corrupt files; USB/SD card not properly inserted. Ensure files are MP3 or WAV; Try a different USB/SD card; Reinsert the card/drive.
