Follow these steps to prepare your game for play:
- Unfold the Game Board: Place the game board on a flat surface.

Shuffle the Roaming Vapor cards and place them face down on their designated space on the board. Shuffle the Supernatural Entity cards and place them face down on their designated space.

- Two $500 bills
- Four $100 bills
- One $50 bill
- One $20 bill

4. How to Play
4.1. Objective
The objective of Monopoly Ghostbusters Edition is to become the wealthiest player by buying, renting, and trading Ghostbusting contracts, and to drive your opponents into bankruptcy.
4.2. Game Play Overview
Players take turns rolling dice and moving their tokens around the board. Depending on the space landed on, players can buy Ghostbusting contracts, draw Roaming Vapor or Supernatural Entity cards, pay rent, or battle ghosts. The game continues until only one player remains solvent.
4.3. Taking a Turn
On your turn, follow these steps:
- Roll the Dice: Roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated.
- Action on Space: The action you take depends on the space your token lands on:
- Unowned Ghostbusting Contract: You may buy the contract for the price printed on the board. If you decline, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder.
- Owned Ghostbusting Contract: If another player owns the contract, you must pay them rent according to the Title Deed card. Rent increases if the owner has Ghost Traps or Containment Units on the property.
- Roaming Vapor: Draw the top card from the Roaming Vapor pile and follow its instructions.
- Supernatural Entity: Draw the top card from the Supernatural Entity pile. You must team up to battle the entity as described on the card.
- GO: If you pass or land on GO, collect $200 from the Banker.
- Just Visiting/Free Parking: These are safe spaces with no immediate action required.
- Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the Jail space. Your turn ends. You cannot collect $200 for passing GO.
- Tax Spaces: Pay the indicated tax to the Banker.
- Doubles: If you roll doubles, take your turn as usual, then roll the dice again for another turn. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you immediately go to Jail.
- End Turn: Once you have completed your action, your turn ends, and play passes to the player on your left.
4.4. Ghostbusting Contracts
Ghostbusting contracts are properties you can buy. Owning all contracts in a color group allows you to build Ghost Traps and then Containment Units, significantly increasing the rent you can charge other players.
- Buying: Pay the Banker the price on the board.
- Building Ghost Traps: Once you own all contracts in a color group, you can buy Ghost Traps from the Banker and place them on any contract in that group. You must build evenly across the group.
- Building Containment Units: After placing four Ghost Traps on a contract, you can upgrade them to a Containment Unit by paying the specified cost and returning the four Ghost Traps to the Banker.
- Selling/Mortgaging: You can sell Ghost Traps and Containment Units back to the Banker for half their cost. Contracts can be mortgaged for money, but no rent can be collected on mortgaged properties.
4.5. Supernatural Entities
When you land on a Supernatural Entity space, you draw a Supernatural Entity card. These cards require players to team up to battle the entity. Follow the instructions on the card to determine the outcome, which may involve paying or collecting money.
4.6. Roaming Vapor Cards
Landing on a Roaming Vapor space requires you to draw a Roaming Vapor card. These cards provide various instructions, such as collecting money, paying fines, moving to a different space, or getting out of Jail free.
4.7. Winning the Game
The game ends when all but one player has gone bankrupt. The remaining player is the winner.
