1. Introduction

The Brifit Digital Milligram Scale is a high-precision portable mini scale designed for accurate weighing of various items, from pharmaceutical ingredients and powders to gold. It features a bright LCD display with orange backlight and offers six different weighing units for versatility. Its compact design and robust construction make it suitable for both professional and personal use.

3. Setup and Initial Use

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Placement Considerations

For accurate measurements, it is crucial to place the scale on a very stable, flat, and level surface. Even small vibrations can significantly affect readings. Avoid placing the scale near sources of vibration, drafts, or extreme temperature changes.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the ON/OFF button to turn the scale on.
  • Press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn the scale off.

4.2 Unit Conversion

The scale supports six different weighing units: grams (g), ounces (oz), troy ounces (ozt), pennyweights (dwt), carats (ct), and grains (gn).

  • Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available weighing units. The selected unit will be displayed on the LCD.

4.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to zero the scale after placing a container or tray on it, so you can measure only the net weight of the contents.

  1. Place the empty container or weighing tray onto the weighing pan.
  2. Wait for the reading to stabilize.
  3. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to zero.
  4. Add the item(s) you wish to weigh into the container/tray. The display will show the net weight of the item(s).

4.4 Piece Counting Function (PCS)

The PCS function allows you to count multiple small, uniform items quickly.

  1. Turn on the scale and ensure it is in weighing mode (not PCS mode).
  2. Press and hold the PCS button until a sample quantity (e.g., "25", "50", "75", "100") appears on the display.
  3. Place the corresponding number of sample items onto the weighing pan.
  4. Press the PCS button again to confirm the sample quantity. The display will show "PCS" and the number of items.
  5. You can now add more items, and the scale will count them based on the sample weight.

4.5 Calibration

Regular calibration ensures the accuracy of your scale. Use the included 50g calibration weight for this process.

  1. Turn the scale on and wait for the display to show "0.000g".
  2. Press and hold the UNIT button until "CAL" appears, then release.
  3. The display will then flash the required calibration weight (e.g., "50.000g").
  4. Carefully place the 50g calibration weight onto the center of the weighing pan.
  5. Wait for the display to show "PASS" and then return to "0.000g". This indicates successful calibration.
  6. Remove the calibration weight. The scale is now calibrated and ready for use.

5. Maintenance and Care

  • Clean the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • The sleek stainless steel build is designed for easy maintenance.
  • Store the scale in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Avoid shaking, dropping, or otherwise subjecting the balance to harsh impacts, as it is a precision instrument.
  • Always use the transparent protective cover when the scale is not in use to prevent dust and damage.

6. Troubleshooting
