4. Setup and Installation

Installation of the Arashi Adjustable Rearsets requires basic mechanical knowledge and appropriate tools. If you are unsure about any step, it is recommended to seek professional assistance. Always ensure the motorcycle is stable and secure before beginning any work.

4.1. Preparation

1. Park your motorcycle on a level surface using a paddock stand or center stand for stability.
2. Gather necessary tools, including wrenches, Allen keys, and thread-locking compound (medium strength).
3. Carefully unpack all components and verify against the parts list (not provided, assume standard components).

4.2. Removing Stock Rearsets

1. Locate and remove the bolts securing the stock foot peg assembly to the motorcycle frame.
2. Carefully disconnect the brake light switch wiring and the shift linkage from the stock rearsets.
3. Remove the entire stock rearset assembly. Keep all stock hardware organized in case it is needed for reinstallation or future use.

4.3. Installing Arashi Rearsets

1. Mounting the Base Plate: Align the Arashi rearset base plate with the mounting points on your motorcycle frame. Secure it using the provided hardware. Apply a small amount of medium-strength thread-locking compound to the bolt threads before tightening to manufacturer specifications.
2. Attaching Foot Pegs and Levers: Attach the foot pegs, shift lever, and brake lever to the base plate. Ensure all pivot points are clean and move freely.
3. Connecting Shift Linkage: Connect the customized shift linkage to the shift lever and the motorcycle's gear selector shaft. Adjust the length of the linkage to achieve the desired shift lever position and feel. Ensure smooth operation without binding.
4. Connecting Brake System: Connect the brake master cylinder push rod to the new brake lever. Reconnect the brake light switch wiring. Verify that the brake light activates correctly when the brake pedal is pressed. The external return spring for the brake pedal should ensure proper pedal return.
5. Final Tightening: Double-check all bolts and fasteners for proper torque. Ensure no components interfere with the motorcycle's operation or moving parts.

5. Operating and Adjustment

The Arashi Adjustable Rearsets allow for customization of your riding position. Adjustments should be made while the motorcycle is stationary and stable.

5.1. Foot Peg Position Adjustment

The rearsets feature multiple mounting holes on the base plate, allowing you to change the horizontal and vertical position of the foot pegs. To adjust:
