Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

  • Wipe the watch with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture.
  • For resin bands, wash with water and a mild soap, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Battery Replacement

The Casio CA53W uses a CR2016 battery, which has an approximate life of 5 years. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it is time to replace the battery. It is highly recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

Troubleshooting

  • Blank Display: If the display is blank, the battery may be depleted. Replace the battery as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Incorrect Time/Date: Re-enter the Timekeeping Mode settings and adjust the time and date as per the Setup section. Ensure AM/PM is correctly set.
  • Calculator Not Responding: Ensure you are in Calculator Mode. If keys are unresponsive, try pressing the 'AC' or 'C' key to clear. If the issue persists, a battery replacement might be necessary.
  • Water Inside Display: If moisture appears inside the watch, stop using it immediately and have it inspected by a professional. This indicates a breach in water resistance.
