3. Setup
The VXDAS NT210 scanner is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. No batteries or external power supply are required as the device draws power directly from the vehicle's OBD2 port.
- Locate the OBD2 Port: The 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic link connector (DLC) is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual if you have difficulty locating it.
- Connect the Scanner: Firmly plug the NT210's 16-pin connector into the vehicle's OBD2 DLC. Ensure a secure connection.
- Turn On Ignition: Turn the vehicle's ignition to the "ON" position (engine off). The scanner will automatically power on and begin linking to the vehicle.

4. Operating Instructions
Once connected and powered on, the NT210 scanner will display a diagnostic menu. Use the UP, DOWN, ESC, and OK buttons to navigate and select options.
4.1. Reading and Clearing Trouble Codes
This function allows you to identify why your Check Engine Light (MIL) is on and to turn it off after necessary repairs.
- From the main menu, select "Read Codes" to view current, pending, and permanent Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). The scanner will display the code and its definition.
- After addressing the underlying issue, select "Erase Codes" from the main menu. Confirm your selection to clear the codes and turn off the Check Engine Light. Note that some fault codes require the underlying issue to be repaired before they can be permanently cleared.

4.2. I/M Readiness Mode
The I/M Readiness function helps you determine if your vehicle is ready for an emissions test by checking the status of various emission-related monitors.
- Select "I/M Readiness" from the diagnostic menu.
- The scanner will display the status of different monitors (e.g., MIL Status, Misfire Monitor, Fuel System Monitor, Catalyst Monitor). "OK" indicates the monitor has completed its diagnostic cycle, "INC" indicates incomplete, and "N/A" indicates not applicable.

4.3. Viewing Freeze Frame Data
Freeze Frame Data captures a snapshot of critical vehicle operating conditions at the moment a fault code is set. This data can help in diagnosing intermittent problems.
- Select "View Freeze Frame" from the diagnostic menu.
- The scanner will display various parameters such as engine speed, airflow, fuel pressure, and other relevant data recorded when the fault occurred.
4.4. Retrieving Vehicle Information (VIN)
This function allows you to retrieve important vehicle identification information.
- Select "Vehicle Info." from the diagnostic menu.
- The scanner will display the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration ID (CALID), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN), which are useful for accurate vehicle identification and when purchasing a used car.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your VXDAS NT210 OBD2 Scanner, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the casing or screen.
- Storage: Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive moisture. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective case when not in use to prevent physical damage.
- Cable Care: Do not pull on the cable to disconnect the scanner from the vehicle. Always grasp the connector itself. Avoid bending or kinking the cable excessively.
6. Troubleshooting
The VXDAS NT210 is designed for reliable operation. If you encounter issues, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:
- No Power/Display: Ensure the OBD2 connector is firmly seated in the vehicle's DLC. Verify that the vehicle's ignition is in the "ON" position. Check the vehicle's fuse for the OBD2 port if the issue persists.
- Linking Error: If the scanner displays a "Linking Error" or fails to connect, ensure your vehicle is OBD2 compliant (most 1996 US-based, 2000 EU-based, and newer vehicles). Try disconnecting and reconnecting the scanner.
- Codes Not Clearing: If codes do not clear after attempting to erase them, it indicates that the underlying fault is still present. The scanner can only clear codes once the issue causing them has been resolved. Address the vehicle's mechanical or electrical problem first.
- Incorrect Readings: Ensure the scanner's language and unit of measurement settings are configured correctly (refer to Operating Instructions).
For more complex issues or specific fault codes, it is recommended to consult a qualified automotive technician.
