4. Installation and Setup

The fan is designed for wall or ceiling mounting and is compatible with all types of round air ducts. Ensure proper ventilation and access to a suitable power supply (230V/50Hz).

4.1. Choosing a Location

Select a location in your bathroom, kitchen, or other desired area that allows for effective air extraction. Ensure there is sufficient space for the fan and ducting, and that the location is not directly above a shower or bath where it could be exposed to direct water spray.

4.2. Mounting the Fan

  1. Disconnect Power: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the installation area is switched off at the circuit breaker.
  2. Prepare the Opening: Create a circular opening of Ø 100mm in the wall or ceiling for the fan duct.
  3. Position the Fan: Place the fan unit against the wall or ceiling, ensuring the duct connection aligns with the opening. Mark the positions for the screw holes.
  4. Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked positions. Insert wall plugs if necessary.
  5. Secure the Fan: Attach the fan securely to the wall or ceiling using appropriate screws.

4.3. Electrical Connection

WARNING: Electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician. Ensure power is disconnected.

  1. Remove the front cover of the fan to access the wiring terminal block.
  2. Connect the live (L), neutral (N), and switched live (LT) wires from your electrical supply to the corresponding terminals on the fan. The switched live (LT) is typically connected to a light switch or a separate switch for manual operation.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.
  4. Replace the front cover.

5. Operating Instructions

The EUROPLAST extractor fan features both automatic humidity-controlled operation and a customizable timer function, along with an option for manual activation.

5.1. Humidity Sensor Operation

The integrated humidity sensor automatically activates the fan when the humidity level in the room reaches a predefined threshold (adjustable from 60% to 90% Relative Humidity). The fan will continue to operate until the humidity drops below the set level, or for the duration of the set timer if activated by a light switch.

5.2. Timer Function

The fan includes a customizable run-on timer, adjustable from 1 to 30 minutes. This timer allows the fan to continue operating for a set period after the light switch is turned off or after the humidity level drops. To adjust the timer, carefully remove the front cover and use a small screwdriver to turn the timer adjustment screw (refer to Figure 4).

5.3. Manual Operation

For immediate ventilation, the fan can be manually activated using an external switch (e.g., a light switch connected to the switched live terminal). When the switch is turned on, the fan will operate. When the switch is turned off, the fan will continue to run for the duration set by the timer function.
