Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the internal 4000mAh rechargeable battery. The radio offers four charging methods:

  1. Micro USB Charging: Connect the provided Micro USB cable to the radio's Micro USB port and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The battery indicator lights will illuminate to show charging progress.
  2. Solar Charging: Place the radio with its solar panel facing direct sunlight. The solar panel is located on the top of the device. This method is ideal for maintaining charge or for emergency charging when other power sources are unavailable.
  3. Hand-Crank Charging: Extend the hand-crank handle located on the back of the radio. Rotate the handle clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (approximately 130-150 RPM) for 3-5 minutes to generate power for basic functions or a short charge.
  4. Replaceable Battery: The radio comes with two pre-installed Lithium Polymer batteries. In case of battery degradation over time, these can be replaced. Refer to the "Maintenance" section for details.
