2. Pairing the Remote and Receiver

To ensure proper communication, the remote and receiver must be paired.

  1. Ensure the receiver collar is turned OFF.
  2. Press and hold the On/Off button on the receiver for 5 seconds until the LED light flashes green.
  3. Turn the remote transmitter ON by rotating the boot clockwise.
  4. Press and hold the channel switch/match button on the remote for 5 seconds.
  5. The receiver will vibrate and beep, and the channel display on the remote will show "1" (or the corresponding channel number), indicating successful pairing.
  6. To pair additional receivers, repeat the steps, ensuring you select a different channel on the remote for each new receiver.

3. Fitting the Collar

Proper fit is crucial for the effectiveness and comfort of the collar.

  • The collar should fit snugly, allowing only one finger to fit between the strap and your dog's neck.
  • The contact points should touch your dog's skin. If your dog has thick fur, you may need to trim the fur around the contact points for better conductivity.
  • Attach the silicone covers to the contact points for added comfort and to prevent direct metal contact with the skin.

Operating the Training Collar

Training Modes

The DOG CARE training collar offers three distinct modes to suit different training needs:

  • Beep Mode: Emits an audible tone. Often used as a warning or attention-getter.
  • Vibration Mode: Delivers a gentle vibration. Useful for mild corrections or as a precursor to static correction.
  • Shock Mode: Provides a static correction. The intensity can be adjusted from 0 to 99 levels to match your dog's sensitivity and training requirements. Always start at the lowest level and increase gradually if needed.

The remote features a security keypad lock to prevent accidental activation of training modes. Simply slide the lock switch to the locked position when not actively training or when carrying the remote.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the collar strap and receiver with a damp cloth. Ensure contact points are free of dirt and debris.
  • Battery Care: Charge the devices when the battery indicator is low. Avoid fully depleting the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
  • Storage: Store the collar and remote in a dry, cool place when not in use.
  • Water Exposure: While the receiver is rainproof (IPX65), it is not designed for prolonged submersion. Remove the receiver before your dog swims or bathes.

Troubleshooting

  • Collar not responding: Ensure both remote and receiver are turned ON and fully charged. Check if they are properly paired.
  • No static correction: Verify the shock level is not set to 0. Ensure contact points are making proper contact with the dog's skin.
  • Short remote range: Environmental factors (e.g., buildings, trees) can affect range. Ensure the remote's antenna is not obstructed.
  • Battery not holding charge: Ensure the charging cable is securely connected. If issues persist, contact customer support.
