The Haden Slow Cooker is designed for convenience and ease of use. Familiarize yourself with its main components:

4. Setup and First Use

The Haden Slow Cooker requires no assembly and is ready to use straight out of the box.

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from the slow cooker.
  2. Clean: Wash the ceramic pot and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The ceramic pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe. Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the slow cooker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and other appliances to ensure proper ventilation.
  4. Insert Pot: Place the clean, dry ceramic pot into the heating base.
  5. Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.

5. Operating Instructions

The Haden Slow Cooker features a user-friendly control panel for setting cooking time and temperature.

5.1. Basic Cooking Steps

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place all desired ingredients into the ceramic pot.
  2. Cover: Place the glass lid securely on the ceramic pot.
  3. Select Heat Setting: Choose your desired heat setting (HIGH, LOW, or WARM) by pressing the corresponding button.
    • HIGH: For faster cooking, typically 2-4 hours.
    • LOW: For slower cooking, typically 4-8 hours, ideal for tenderizing meats.
    • WARM: To keep food at a serving temperature after cooking is complete. Do not use the WARM setting for cooking.
  4. Set Cooking Time: Press the "COOKING TIME" button. Use the up/down arrows to adjust the desired cooking duration. The digital display will show the set time.
  5. Start Cooking: Press the "START/STOP" button to begin the cooking cycle. The power indicator light will be on.
  6. Monitoring: The glass lid allows you to monitor cooking progress without lifting the lid, which helps maintain consistent temperature and cooking efficiency.
  7. Completion: Once the cooking time elapses, the slow cooker may automatically switch to the WARM setting (if available) or turn off. Refer to the specific model's behavior.

5.2. Delay Start Function

The delay start function allows you to program the slow cooker to begin cooking at a later time.

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place all ingredients into the ceramic pot and cover with the lid.
  2. Set Delay Time: Press the "DELAY TIME" button. Use the up/down arrows to set the desired delay duration (e.g., 2 hours).
  3. Select Heat Setting: Choose your desired heat setting (HIGH or LOW) for when the cooking starts.
  4. Set Cooking Time: Press the "COOKING TIME" button and set the desired cooking duration.
  5. Start Delay: Press the "START/STOP" button. The slow cooker will count down the delay time, then automatically begin cooking at the set temperature and duration.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

  2. Ceramic Pot and Glass Lid: The removable ceramic pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that may scratch the surfaces.
  3. Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid. Ensure no water enters the control panel area.
