Operating Instructions
The Outwell Ecocool Cool Box offers both cooling and heating functionalities, along with different power modes to suit your needs.
- Function Selection (Cool/Heat):
On the control panel (refer to Figure 2), locate the switch labeled "COLD" and "HOT".
- Set to "COLD" for cooling. The cool box can cool contents up to approximately 20°C below the ambient temperature.
- Set to "HOT" for heating. The cool box can maintain a temperature between 50-60°C.
- Power Mode Selection (Max/Eco):
Next to the function switch, you will find a switch for "MAX" and "ECO" modes.
- "MAX" Mode: Provides maximum cooling or heating performance. This mode consumes more power and may result in higher fan noise.
- "ECO" Mode: Offers energy-efficient operation, reducing power consumption and fan noise. This mode is suitable for maintaining temperature once the desired level is reached.
- Ventilation: The cool box is designed with optimal ventilation to ensure efficient operation. Ensure the ventilation grilles on the lid are not obstructed.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Outwell Ecocool Cool Box.
- Cleaning:
Clean the interior and exterior of the cool box with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
Wipe dry thoroughly before storage or next use to prevent mold or mildew.
- Storage:
When not in use, store the cool box in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. It is advisable to leave the lid slightly ajar to allow for air circulation and prevent odors.
- Insulation:
The cool box features consistent Polyurethane (PU) insulation. Avoid puncturing or damaging the outer casing, as this could compromise the insulation properties.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Outwell Ecocool Cool Box, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cool box not cooling/heating. | No power, incorrect power connection, function switch set incorrectly. | Check power cable connection (12V/230V). Ensure power source is active. Verify "COLD" or "HOT" switch is correctly selected. |
| Insufficient cooling/heating. | Overfilled, obstructed ventilation, ambient temperature too high, "ECO" mode selected for initial cooling. | Do not overfill. Ensure ventilation grilles are clear. For initial cooling, use "MAX" mode. Pre-cool items before placing them in the box. |
| Excessive noise from fan. | Operating in "MAX" mode. | Switch to "ECO" mode once the desired temperature is reached. Fan noise is typically higher in "MAX" mode due to increased performance. |
| Condensation inside the box. | Humidity, frequent opening of lid. | This is normal. Wipe dry periodically. Minimize opening the lid to maintain internal temperature. |
