  2. Connect Video Source:
    • For RCA (Yellow, White, Red) output from your VCR, camcorder, or other source: Connect the RCA cables from your source's "AV OUT" ports to the corresponding "AV IN" ports on the converter.
    • For S-Video output (optional, if your source has it): Connect an S-Video cable from your source's S-Video output to the "S-Video In" port on the converter. You will still need to connect the white and red audio RCA cables for sound.
  3. Insert Storage Device: Insert a USB flash drive (up to 128GB, FAT32/exFAT format recommended) into the "USB Flash Drive Port" or an SD card (up to 128GB, FAT32/exFAT format recommended) into the "SD Card Slot". Your digital video files will be saved here.
  4. (Optional) Connect to TV/Monitor: If you wish to view the converter's screen on a larger display, connect an HDMI cable from the "HDMI Output" port on the converter to an HDMI input on your TV or monitor.

Operating Instructions

Recording Video:

  1. Ensure your video source (VCR, camcorder, etc.) is connected and powered on, and a USB drive or SD card is inserted into the converter.
  2. Play the video on your source device that you wish to record. You should see the video playing on the converter's 3.5-inch LCD screen.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your converter, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible Cause & Solution
No video signal on screen.
  • Ensure all AV/RCA or S-Video cables are securely connected to both the source and the converter.
  • Verify your source device (VCR, camcorder) is powered on and playing video.
  • Check if the source device's "AV OUT" port is functioning correctly.
  • Ensure the correct input mode is selected on the converter (if applicable, though it usually auto-detects).
No audio during recording or playback.
  • Check the white and red audio RCA cables for secure connection.
  • Ensure the audio output from your source device is working.
  • Adjust the volume on the converter using the directional buttons.
Recording stops unexpectedly or file is corrupted.
  • Always press the Rec/Stop button to end recording before removing the USB drive/SD card.
  • Ensure your USB drive or SD card has sufficient free space.
  • Try formatting the USB drive/SD card to FAT32 or exFAT on a computer.
  • The auto-stop function might be enabled. Check settings in the Menu.
Device does not power on.
  • Verify the power adapter is securely connected to the device and a working power outlet.
  • Ensure the power outlet is active.
  • Use only the original power adapter provided with the device.
Poor video quality (jittery, lines).
  • Ensure your source tape/media is in good condition.
  • Adjust the tracking on your VCR if lines are present.
  • If using RCA, consider using an S-Video connection if your source supports it, as it can provide a more stable signal.
  • Remember, the device records in SD (720x480 or 640x480 pixels) and does not upscale. Quality is limited by the original analog source.
