Introduction
The DollaTek Digital Servo Tester is a versatile tool designed for testing and adjusting servos and Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) in RC helicopters, cars, and other models. It allows for precise control and comparison of servo performance, offering multiple operating modes and signal output adjustments.

Features
- Synchronized control output for up to 4 servos.
- Precise signal output (accurate to 2us) for detailed servo performance comparison.
- PPM signal test function with on-screen display.
- Automatic switch to manual mode upon power-up.
- Adjustable output pulse width using rotary potentiometers.
- Supports analog (50Hz) and digital (125Hz, 250Hz) servo signal cycles.
Setup
Before connecting any components, ensure the device is powered off. The tester operates on a DC 5-6V input voltage.
Connecting Servos/ESCs
Connect your servos or ESCs to the output ports labeled 'OUT 1 2 3 4'. Ensure correct polarity: Positive (VCC) to the red wire, Negative (GND) to the brown wire, and Signal to the yellow wire of your servo/ESC.

The tester can connect with up to 4 servos simultaneously for comparative testing.

Operating Modes
The device features three operating modes, selectable by pressing the 'Select' button. The mode cycles through S-1, S-2, and S-3.

Figure 5: Control panel showing the 'Select' and 'Pulse Width' buttons, and the rotary knob.
- S-1 Manual Mode: In this mode, the servo position is controlled manually by rotating the potentiometer knob. This allows for precise, real-time adjustment of the servo's angle.
- S-2 Neutral Mode: This mode sets the servo to its neutral (center) position. It is useful for verifying the servo's default alignment.
- S-3 Automatic Mode: In automatic mode, the servo will sweep through its full range of motion repeatedly. This is ideal for endurance testing and identifying any sticking points or inconsistencies in the servo's movement.
Pulse Width Settings
The 'Pulse Width' button allows you to select the appropriate signal cycle frequency for your servo type. It is crucial to match the setting to your servo to prevent damage.
- Analog Servo Signal Cycle: 20us 50Hz frequency.
- Digital 125H Servo Signal Cycle: 8us 125Hz frequency.
- Digital 250H Servo Signal Cycle: 4us 250Hz frequency.
Maintenance
The DollaTek Digital Servo Tester requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit, as this may void any potential warranty and could cause damage.
Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Ensure the input voltage is within the specified DC 5-6V range and connections are secure.
- Servo not responding: Verify that the servo is correctly connected with the right polarity. Check that the 'Pulse Width' setting matches your servo type (analog or digital).
- Erratic servo movement: This could indicate an incorrect 'Pulse Width' setting or a faulty servo. Try testing with a known good servo or adjusting the pulse width.
Warnings
Always select the correct digital or analog signal button for your servos before connecting and powering the servo. Connecting a servo with an incorrect signal setting can cause irreversible damage to the servo.
