Setup

  1. Choose Your Ear Tips: Selecting the correct ear tip size and type is crucial for optimal sound quality and comfort. Experiment with the various silicone, wide-bore silicone, memory foam, and triple flange tips provided. A proper air-tight seal between the tip and your ear canal is essential for full bass response and sound isolation. If the fit is too loose, sound leakage will occur, reducing audio quality and allowing outside noise in. Start with a medium size and adjust as needed.
  2. Attach the Cable: The MP-320 features detachable MMCX cables. Carefully align the cable connector with the earpiece connector and push firmly until you feel a click. Ensure a secure connection for both earpieces. You can choose between the clear cable (standard) or the black cable (with in-line remote for call/media control).
  3. Insert In-Ear Monitors: Gently insert the in-ear monitors into your ear canal. The cable is designed to loop over the top of your ear for a secure and comfortable fit, reducing microphonics (cable noise). Ensure the earpiece is seated deeply enough to create a good seal.
  4. Connect to Audio Source: Plug the 3.5mm jack of the cable into your audio device. If your device requires a 1/4" connection, use the included adapter.

Operating Instructions

Once properly set up, your Mackie MP-320 In-Ear Monitors are ready for use.

  • Volume Control: Adjust the volume directly from your audio source. If using the black cable with the in-line remote, you may have additional media and call control functions depending on your device.
  • Sound Isolation: The MP-320 provides up to 40dB of sound isolation. This feature helps block out ambient noise, allowing you to focus on your audio. Ensure a good ear tip seal for maximum isolation.
  • Comfortable Listening: For extended listening sessions, ensure the fit remains comfortable. If discomfort occurs, re-evaluate your ear tip choice or adjust the earpiece position.

Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life and performance of your MP-320 In-Ear Monitors.

  • Cleaning Earpieces: Use the provided cleaning cloth to wipe down the earpieces after each use. For deeper cleaning, gently remove the ear tips and clean them with mild soap and water, ensuring they are completely dry before reattaching. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the earpieces in liquid.
  • Cable Care: The braided cables are designed for durability. Avoid sharp bends, excessive pulling, or tangling. When not in use, coil the cables loosely and store them in the hard carry case.
  • Storage: Always store your MP-320 In-Ear Monitors in the included hard carry case to protect them from dust, moisture, and physical damage.
