2.2 Charging the Device
Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the provided charging cable to the USB Type-C port on the device and plug the adapter into a power outlet. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status.
2.3 Attaching the Probe and UV LED
Attach the flexible probe to the top of the main unit. If required for specific applications, connect the UV LED to its designated port on the probe. The extended probe can be used for reaching difficult areas.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Powering On/Off
Press and hold the ON/OFF button to power the device on or off. The display will illuminate upon startup.
3.2 Sensor Mode Selection
The IR-200 features two sensor modes: Infrared (IR) and Heated Diode. Press the MODE button to switch between these two sensor types. Each mode offers distinct advantages for different detection scenarios.

Figure 3.1: Display comparison between Infrared mode (left) showing sensitivity bars and Heated Diode mode (right) showing numerical concentration, illustrating the two changeable modes and the 2.8-inch large screen.
3.3 Adjusting Sensitivity
In Infrared mode, press the RESET SENS button to adjust the sensitivity level (High, Medium, Low). Higher sensitivity is ideal for detecting very small leaks, while lower sensitivity helps pinpoint larger leaks without false positives.
3.4 Leak Detection Process
- Preparation: Ensure the area is well-ventilated and free from strong air currents that might disperse refrigerant.
- Initial Scan: Begin with the Infrared mode at a higher sensitivity setting. Slowly move the probe around suspected leak areas (e.g., joints, fittings, valves).
- Pinpointing Leaks: Once a general leak area is identified (indicated by an alarm and visual cues on the display), switch to Heated Diode mode for precise numerical concentration readings. Move the probe slowly to find the highest concentration reading, which indicates the exact leak point.
- Peak Function: Press the PEAK button to mark or unmark the maximum leak concentration detected. This helps in tracking the highest reading during the detection process.
- Mute Function: Press the MUTE button to silence the audible alarm if needed for a 'quiet' working environment.
