General Measurement Principles

The BST-58F automatically identifies the measurement type. Ensure test leads are correctly connected for the desired measurement.

  • Voltage Measurement (AC/DC): Connect leads in parallel with the circuit.
  • Current Measurement (AC/DC): Connect leads in series with the circuit. Ensure the circuit is de-energized before connecting.
  • Resistance Measurement: Ensure the circuit is de-energized before measuring resistance. Connect leads across the component.
  • Capacitance Measurement: Ensure the capacitor is discharged before measuring.
  • Frequency Measurement: Connect leads to the signal source.
  • Continuity Test: For checking circuit continuity. An audible beep indicates continuity.
