Site Preparation

Proper site preparation is crucial for the stability and longevity of your pool. The pool must be set up on a completely level surface. An uneven surface can lead to the pool collapsing or water pooling unevenly, which can cause damage and safety hazards. Ensure the area is free of sharp objects, debris, and excessive vegetation.

A 15-foot pool requires approximately 17 to 18 feet of total space for proper setup, allowing for the pool's footprint and surrounding access.

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps for quick and easy assembly:

  1. Unpacking and Laying Out: Carefully unpack the pool liner and accessories. Lay the ground cloth on your prepared level surface. Then, spread the pool liner over the ground cloth, ensuring the drain plug is positioned away from your house or any structures that could be damaged by draining water.

  1. Inflating the Top Ring: Locate the inflation valve on the top ring of the pool. Use an air pump (not included) to inflate the top ring until it is firm but not over-inflated.

  1. Filling with Water: Begin filling the pool with water. As the water level rises, the top ring will float, and the pool walls will rise. Smooth out any wrinkles on the bottom of the pool as it fills. Fill the pool to approximately 80% capacity, which is about 3,736 gallons.

Operating the Filter Pump

The Krystal Clear Filter Pump is designed to circulate and filter your pool water, enhancing clarity and hygiene. It features Hydro Aeration Technology for improved circulation and water clarity.

  • Daily Operation: Run the filter pump for 2-10 hours daily, depending on pool usage and water condition. Refer to the pump's specific manual for detailed operating instructions and timer settings.
  • Water Flow: Ensure the pump is always running when the pool is in use to maintain proper filtration and water movement.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential to keep your pool clean and safe.

  • Water Quality: Regularly test your pool water for pH and chlorine levels. Adjust chemicals as needed to maintain proper balance. Incorrect chemical levels can damage the pool liner over time.
  • Filter Cartridge: The filter pump uses a replaceable cartridge. Check and clean the filter cartridge regularly (e.g., every few days) by rinsing it with a garden hose. Replace the cartridge every 2-4 weeks, or more frequently if the water is heavily used or dirty.
  • Pool Cover: Use the included pool cover when the pool is not in use to prevent debris from entering the water and to reduce evaporation.

Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • Water Leaks: Inspect the pool liner for any punctures or tears. Small holes can often be repaired with a vinyl repair kit (sold separately). Check the top inflatable ring for air leaks, as deflation can affect pool stability.
  • Pump Not Circulating Water: Ensure the pump is plugged in and receiving power. Check that the filter cartridge is clean and not clogged. Verify that all hoses are securely connected and free of kinks.
  • Cloudy Water: This often indicates insufficient filtration or improper chemical balance. Increase pump running time, clean or replace the filter cartridge, and test/adjust water chemistry.
