4. Setup

4.1. Binding Process

To establish communication between the receiver and your transmitter, follow these binding steps:

  1. Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered off.
  2. Insert the bind plug into the "BIND" port on the receiver.
  3. Connect power to the receiver (e.g., via the B/VCC port or Channel 1 if using an ESC with BEC). The receiver's LED should flash rapidly, indicating it is in binding mode.
  4. Turn on your compatible Flysky transmitter and activate its binding function (refer to your transmitter's manual for specific instructions).
  5. Once binding is successful, the receiver's LED will stop flashing and remain solid red.
  6. Disconnect power from the receiver, then remove the bind plug.
  7. Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver. The receiver's LED should be solid red, indicating a successful connection.

Status Indicator Meanings:

  • Off: Power is not connected.
  • Lit in Red: Receiver is on and working, successfully bound.
  • Flashing Quickly: Receiver is in binding mode.
  • Flashing Slowly: The bound transmitter is off or signal is lost.

4.2. Transmitter Compatibility

The FS-BS6 receiver is compatible with various Flysky transmitters. Refer to the table below to confirm compatibility with your specific transmitter model.

4.3. Gyroscope Calibration

The gyroscope is factory calibrated. If recalibration is necessary, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the transmitter.
  2. Insert power into Channel 1 of the receiver (do not use the BIND port for power during calibration). The receiver's LED should begin to flash slowly.
  3. Place the receiver on a flat, horizontal surface and ensure it cannot move during calibration.
  4. Insert the bind cable into the BIND port. The receiver's LED should flash rapidly 3 times, then return to its previous slow flash speed if calibration is successful.

4.4. Receiver and Servo Connection

Connect your servos and other components to the receiver's channels as indicated below. Ensure correct polarity when connecting.

Important Installation Note:

To ensure the gyroscope functions optimally, install the receiver horizontally with an inclination of less than 10 degrees from level.

5. Operating Guidelines

Once the receiver is successfully bound and connected, operate your RC model according to your transmitter's instructions. The integrated gyroscope will assist in maintaining stability during operation.

Antenna Placement:

Proper antenna placement is crucial for maintaining a strong and stable signal. Avoid pointing the antenna directly at the model during operation, as this can lead to signal degradation.

  • Note: Never grip the transmitter antenna during operation. This significantly degrades the RF signal quality and strength, potentially causing loss of control.
  • Caution: For best signal quality, ensure the receiver is mounted away from motors or metal parts.
  • Caution: Do not pull or tie the receiver antenna into a knot or tie it to the steering bar.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your FS-BS6 receiver, observe the following maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture.
  • Avoid exposing the receiver to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods.

  • Ensure the antenna is not kinked, cut, or damaged. A damaged antenna can severely reduce range and signal reliability.
  • Store the receiver in a dry, cool place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GoolRC Flysky FS-BS6 receiver, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
