3.1 Front Panel Controls

  • Power Button: Press to turn the speaker on or off.

  • AUX Input: Connect an external audio device using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  • Power Input: Connect the provided power adapter to charge the speaker and supply power.
  • Service Port: For service use only.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Speaker

Before initial use, fully charge the speaker. The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 8 hours of playtime.

  1. Connect the power adapter to the Power Input port on the rear of the speaker.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. The LED indicator on the front panel will show charging status. It will turn off when fully charged.

4.2 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the Power button on the front panel. The LED indicator will illuminate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the LED indicator turns off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Bluetooth Pairing

The Onyx Studio 5 uses Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless audio streaming.

  1. Turn on the speaker.
  2. Press the Bluetooth button on the front panel. The Bluetooth LED will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  3. On your smartphone or tablet, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 5" from the list of devices.
  5. Once paired, the Bluetooth LED will glow solid blue, and you will hear an audible confirmation.

Note: The speaker will automatically attempt to reconnect to the last paired device when powered on.

5.2 Connecting Multiple Devices

You can connect up to two smart devices simultaneously to the Onyx Studio 5.

  1. Pair the first device as described in Section 5.1.
  2. To connect a second device, press the Bluetooth button on the speaker again to enter pairing mode.
  3. Pair the second device.
  4. Audio will play from the device that initiates playback. If one device is playing, the other device can take over by starting its own audio playback.

5.3 Speakerphone Function

When connected via Bluetooth, the speaker can be used as a speakerphone.

  • To Answer a Call: Press the Play/Pause button once.
  • To End a Call: Press the Play/Pause button once.
  • To Reject a Call: Press and hold the Play/Pause button for 2 seconds.

5.4 AUX Input

To play audio from a device without Bluetooth, use the AUX input.

  1. Connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from your audio device's headphone jack to the AUX Input port on the speaker.
  2. The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode when a cable is detected.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker's surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, fully charge the speaker at least once every three months if not in regular use. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Water Resistance: This speaker is NOT waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or excessive moisture.

7. Troubleshooting
