2.3 Adjusting Grind Coarseness
The AdHoc Mrs. Bean grinder features six PRECISE+® grinding settings, allowing you to achieve your preferred coffee consistency, from very fine to coarse. To adjust the grind setting:
- Locate the adjustment dial at the bottom of the grinder, just above the collecting container.
- Turn the dial to select your desired grind setting. A lower number typically indicates a finer grind, while a higher number indicates a coarser grind.
- Experiment with different settings to find the ideal coarseness for your brewing method (e.g., fine for espresso, medium for drip, coarse for French press).

4. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your AdHoc Mrs. Bean coffee grinder.
4.1 Daily Cleaning
- After each use, empty any remaining ground coffee from the collecting container.
- Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a soft, damp cloth.
4.2 Deep Cleaning (Monthly or as needed)
- Disassemble the grinder by removing the collecting container, the gear head, and the top cover.
- The collecting container can be washed with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembly.
- For the burr grinder mechanism and the main body, it is recommended to use a brush to remove any accumulated coffee grounds. Avoid using water directly on the burr mechanism to prevent rust and damage.
- Alternatively, you can grind a small amount of uncooked rice through the grinder to help dislodge and absorb coffee oils and residue from the burrs.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling the grinder.
5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Grinder is difficult to turn. | Beans are too hard or mechanism is clogged. | Ensure you are using roasted coffee beans. Disassemble and clean the burr mechanism to remove any obstructions. |
| Inconsistent grind size. | Grind setting is not stable or burrs are dirty. | Check that the grind adjustment dial is securely set. Perform a deep clean of the burr mechanism. |
| No coffee grounds are produced. | No beans in the hopper or mechanism is jammed. | Ensure coffee beans are loaded. Check for any foreign objects jamming the burrs and clean as necessary. |
