4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove the power supply from its packaging.
- Inspect the unit for any signs of physical damage. If damage is found, contact your supplier immediately.
- Verify that all accessories listed in the package contents (power cord, USB cable, ex-factory test report) are present.
4.2 Connecting Power
- Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position.
- Connect the provided power cord to the AC input on the rear panel of the power supply.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded AC power outlet. The power supply supports 120V (AC) maximum input voltage.
4.3 Connecting the Load
- Connect the positive (+) terminal of your load to the red output terminal on the front panel.
- Connect the negative (-) terminal of your load to the black output terminal on the front panel.
- For remote sensing, connect the sense wires to the dedicated remote sense terminals on the rear panel. This compensates for voltage drop across the load leads.
4.4 Communication Interface
The IT6862A supports RS232 and USB interfaces for remote control and data acquisition.
- USB Connection: Use the provided USB cable to connect the power supply to a computer.
- RS232 Connection: Use an RS232 serial cable to connect the power supply to a computer.
