2. Important Safety Information

4. Installation Guide

The eMylo WiFi Smart Energy Meter is designed for installation on a standard 35mm DIN rail within your electrical panel. Due to the nature of electrical work, it is highly recommended that installation be carried out by a certified electrician to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.

4.1 Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Ensure the main power supply to your electrical panel is switched off.
  • Confirm the meter's specifications (AC 90-250V, Max 60A) match your electrical system.
  • Gather necessary tools: screwdriver, wire strippers, voltage tester.

4.2 Wiring Diagram

4.3 Mounting

After installation, restore power and proceed to the setup section.

5. Initial Setup and App Pairing

To utilize the smart features of your eMylo energy meter, you need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network and pair it with the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app.

5.1 App Download and Account Creation

  • Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  • Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.

5.2 Wi-Fi Connection and Device Pairing

  • Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The meter does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Power on the eMylo Smart Energy Meter. The Wi-Fi indicator light on the meter should start blinking rapidly. If not, press and hold the "Pair" button for 5-10 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
  • Open the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app, tap the "+" icon (usually in the top right corner) to add a device.
  • Select "Electrical Engineering" or "Energy Meter" from the device list.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to connect the meter to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password.
  • Important Note: Some users have reported that pressing the "Pair" button or during the pairing process, the device may temporarily cut the output power. If your Wi-Fi router is powered through the circuit monitored by this meter, it may lose connection.
    • Workaround 1: Perform the pairing process before installing the meter in the main electrical panel, using a temporary power source for the meter.
    • Workaround 2: Use a mobile hotspot from another phone to provide Wi-Fi during the initial pairing, then switch the meter to your home Wi-Fi via the app settings once connected.
  • Once successfully paired, the Wi-Fi indicator light will become solid, and the device will appear in your app.

6. Operating Instructions

The eMylo Smart Energy Meter offers various functions accessible via its LCD display and the connected smartphone app.

6.1 Real-time Monitoring

  • LCD Display: The meter's built-in LCD screen displays real-time voltage (V), current (A), and active power (kW).
  • Smartphone App: Open the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app to view detailed real-time data including voltage, current, active power, and total energy consumption (kWh). The app also provides daily, monthly, and yearly consumption statistics.

6.2 Remote Control

You can remotely turn the power supply on or off through the app from anywhere with an internet connection.

  • In the app, navigate to the device control interface.

8.2 Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi / Frequent Disconnections

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The meter does not support 5GHz.
  • Check the Wi-Fi signal strength at the meter's location. Move the router closer or use a Wi-Fi extender if necessary.
  • Confirm your Wi-Fi password is entered correctly in the app.
  • If the meter cuts power during pairing, refer to the "Wi-Fi Connection and Device Pairing" section (5.2) for workarounds.
  • Try resetting the meter (power cycle) and attempting the pairing process again.

8.3 Inaccurate Readings

  • Ensure the meter is correctly wired and installed according to the diagram.
  • If discrepancies persist, contact customer support.

8.4 Device Turned Off via App and Cannot Be Re-enabled

If the meter's output power is cut via the app and your Wi-Fi router is on the same circuit, you will lose Wi-Fi connectivity to the meter, preventing remote re-enablement.

  • Solution: Physically cycle the power to the meter (turn off and on the main circuit breaker). This will restore power and Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Alternative: If you have a mobile hotspot, connect your phone to it, then use the app to re-enable the meter.
