1. Introduction

The GIORDON MP900-2 Universal Car Remote Engine Starter is designed to enhance your vehicle's convenience and security. This system integrates remote engine start, keyless entry, and alarm functions, controllable via a dedicated remote key or a smartphone application. It allows for pre-warming or pre-cooling your car, provides passive keyless entry (PKE), and features a one-button push start for modernizing older vehicles.

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your remote engine starter system.

2. Product Components

The GIORDON MP900-2 system typically includes the following components:

3. Setup and Installation

Installation of the GIORDON MP900-2 system requires knowledge of automotive electrical systems. It is highly recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional to ensure proper functionality and to avoid damage to your vehicle.

3.1 Compatibility

This system is compatible with approximately 95% of DC12V compact cars, sedans, coupes, SUVs, and pick-up trucks on the market. However, it is not compatible with all vehicles. Specifically, it is not suitable for certain Buick and Volkswagen models that have a specific keyhole design, as shown in Figure 3. If your car has an original remote start button, it must be removed and replaced with the system's button.

3.2 Wiring and Connection

Detailed wiring diagrams are typically provided with the product packaging. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits. Incorrect wiring can lead to system malfunction or vehicle damage.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Remote Engine Start

To remotely start your engine, you can use either the remote key or the smartphone application. This feature is ideal for pre-warming or pre-cooling your vehicle's interior. If the air conditioner was left on when the car was last turned off, it will automatically activate upon remote start.

4.2 Keyless Entry (PKE & App)

The system offers two forms of keyless entry:

4.3 One-Button Push Start/Stop

Once installed, the system allows you to start and stop your vehicle's engine with a single push of the integrated start/stop button.

4.4 Lock/Unlock and Trunk Release

Both the remote key and the smartphone application provide control over locking, unlocking, and opening the trunk of your vehicle.

4.5 Car Alarm System

The system includes a car alarm feature to deter theft. When activated, the alarm will sound to alert you of potential tampering.

4.6 Car Locator

Use the car locator function via the app or remote to help find your vehicle in a large parking area. This typically activates the car's lights or horn.

4.7 Smartphone Application Control

The GIORDON app is available for both Android and iOS smartphones, providing comprehensive control over your vehicle's functions. The app interface allows for remote engine start, lock/unlock, trunk release, and car locator functions.

5. Maintenance

The GIORDON remote engine starter system is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. Follow these general guidelines:

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with the GIORDON remote engine starter system.

  • Vehicle not in correct state for activation.

  • For automatic cars: Ensure car gear is in "P" or "N" and hand-brake is on. Press the start button for 2 seconds. The LED inside the transmitter will flash slowly. When you get off the car, shut down the engine and lock the car; the start function should then be activated.
  • For manual cars: Step on the footbrake, then long-press the third and fourth buttons on the key simultaneously for 4 seconds.
  • Replace remote key battery.
Smartphone app not connecting or functioning.
  • Bluetooth/network issues.
  • Outdated app version.
  • App permissions not granted.
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the car's system.
  • Check for app updates in your phone's app store.
  • Verify that the app has necessary permissions (e.g., location, Bluetooth) in your phone settings.
  • Restart the app or your phone.
Alarm is too sensitive or triggers frequently.
  • Sensitivity setting (if adjustable).
  • Environmental factors.

Some systems may not have adjustable sensitivity. If this is a persistent issue, consult with your installer or technical support.

Push start button remains illuminated, causing battery drain.

This may be a design characteristic of the system. If concerned about parasitic draw, professional assessment of the vehicle's electrical system is recommended.
