3.2. Wiring

Refer to the wiring diagram on the device or in this manual for correct connections. The device operates on AC 220V. Connect the input power to terminals 1 and 2. The output contacts are typically 3 (Common), 4 (Normally Open), and 5 (Normally Closed).

Important Safety Note: This product cannot directly control high current loads such as heating elements or large motors. For such applications, an external Solid State Relay (SSR) or AC Contactor must be used in conjunction with the time switch to handle the high current.

5.1. Battery Reserve

The device includes a built-in lithium battery for power reserve, which maintains the time and programmed settings during power outages. The battery has an estimated life of 3 years. If the display becomes dim or settings are lost frequently during power interruptions, the internal battery may need replacement by a qualified technician.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on:
    • Check the AC 220V power supply connections to terminals 1 and 2.
    • Ensure the power source is active.
  • Programs not executing:
    • Verify that the device is in AUTO mode (check the display). Press MANUAL to cycle to AUTO if needed.
    • Double-check the programmed ON/OFF times and days for accuracy.
    • Ensure the current time and day are correctly set on the device.
  • Output not switching for high current loads:
    • The AHC15A is designed for resistive loads up to 16A. It cannot directly control high current inductive or capacitive loads (e.g., heaters, large motors) without an intermediate relay.
    • If controlling high current, ensure an appropriate external Solid State Relay (SSR) or AC Contactor is correctly wired between the time switch and the load.
  • Display is dim or settings are lost after power outage:
    • The internal lithium battery for power reserve may be depleted. While designed for 3 years, its life can vary.
    • Contact a qualified technician for battery inspection or replacement.
