Setup

1. Initial Placement

Place the Denon Home 250 speaker on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. For optimal sound, avoid placing it directly against a wall or in a corner, unless specifically adjusting bass settings for such placement.

2. Power Connection

Connect the supplied power cord to the AC inlet on the rear of the speaker, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.

3. Network Setup (Wireless)

For wireless setup, download the HEOS app from your device's app store. Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to connect your Denon Home 250 to your home Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through the process of adding the speaker and configuring its settings.

4. Network Setup (Wired)

Alternatively, you can connect the speaker to your network using an Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the "NETWORK" port on the rear of the speaker and the other end into your router or network switch.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Once connected to power, the speaker will automatically power on. There is no physical power button on the unit for daily operation; it enters a low-power standby mode when not in use. To completely power off, disconnect the power cord.

2. Using the HEOS App

The primary method of control is through the HEOS app. From the app, you can:

  • Select music sources (streaming services, USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth).
  • Adjust volume.
  • Create and manage multi-room groups.
  • Access equalizer settings.
  • Configure quick-select buttons.

3. Bluetooth Connectivity

To connect a Bluetooth device:

  1. Ensure your Denon Home 250 is powered on.
  2. Open the HEOS app and select Bluetooth as the source, or press the Bluetooth button on the speaker (if available and configured).
  3. On your mobile device, go to Bluetooth settings and select "Denon Home 250" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once paired, audio from your device will play through the speaker.

4. USB and AUX Input

Connect a USB storage device to the USB port on the rear for local music playback. Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect external audio sources to the AUX IN port. Select the corresponding input source in the HEOS app.

5. Quick Select Buttons

The Denon Home 250 features three quick-select buttons on its top panel. These can be programmed via the HEOS app to instantly access your favorite internet radio stations, playlists, or input sources.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the speaker. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the speaker's ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: If storing the speaker for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting
