4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Amcrest IP2M-841W-V3 camera:
- Power On: Connect the camera to a power outlet using the provided USB cable and power adapter. The camera will begin its initialization sequence.
- Download App: Download the 'Amcrest Smart Home' app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Create Account: Open the app and create a new user account or log in if you already have one.
- Add Device: In the app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device. Select 'WiFi Camera' as the device type.
- Scan QR Code: The app will prompt you to scan the QR code located on the bottom of your camera. Ensure the camera's indicator light is blinking green.
- Wi-Fi Configuration: Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4GHz network during setup.
- Set Password: Create a secure password for your camera when prompted.

5. Operating the Camera
The Amcrest Smart Home app provides full control over your camera's functions:
- Pan & Tilt Control: Use the on-screen joystick or swipe gestures in the live view to remotely adjust the camera's horizontal (pan) and vertical (tilt) angles.
- Auto-Tracking: Enable this feature in the app settings to allow the camera to automatically follow detected motion.
- Two-Way Talk: Tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera's speaker, and tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's environment.
- Privacy Mode: Activate privacy mode to temporarily disable the camera's live view, audio, and recording functions.
- Motion & Audio Detection: Configure detection zones and sensitivity levels in the app settings to receive customized alerts.

6. Storage Options
Your Amcrest camera offers multiple ways to store your video recordings:
- MicroSD Card: Insert a MicroSD card (up to 256GB, FAT32 format, not included) into the designated slot on the camera for local storage.
- Amcrest Cloud: Utilize Amcrest Cloud for off-site storage. Live viewing and 4 hours of recorded storage are included free. Additional plans are available for extended storage.
- NVR/FTP: The camera can also record to an Amcrest NVR (Network Video Recorder) or an FTP server for continuous recording.
7. Night Vision
The Amcrest IP2M-841W-V3 camera features infrared (IR) LEDs for clear night vision. In low-light conditions, the camera automatically switches to night mode, providing black and white video footage up to 32 feet (10 meters). This ensures continuous monitoring even in complete darkness.
