1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of your Haozee Smart Valve Controller. This device enables remote and automated control of existing ball valves for water or gas lines, enhancing home safety and convenience through smart home integration.

3. Safety Information

• Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation or maintenance.
• This device is designed for use with standard ball valves. Do not attempt to install on other valve types.
• For gas line installations, it is highly recommended to consult a qualified professional to ensure safe and proper setup.
• Keep the device away from direct water exposure unless specifically designed for such environments.
• Use only the provided power adapter.

4. Installation

4.1. Pre-installation Checks

1. Verify that your existing ball valve is in good working condition and operates smoothly.
2. Ensure the installation area is dry and free from obstructions.
3. Confirm you have access to a power outlet within reach of the power adapter cable.

4.2. Mounting the Controller

1. Position the valve controller over the handle of your existing ball valve. The controller's arm should align with the valve handle.
2. Secure the controller to the pipe using the provided mounting bracket and screws. Ensure it is firmly attached and does not wobble.
3. Adjust the controller's arm so that it can fully open and close the valve handle without obstruction. The clutch pull ring allows for manual adjustment during installation.

4.3. Connecting Power

1. Connect the power adapter to the valve controller.
2. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The device will power on, indicated by an LED light.

5. Setup

5.1. App Download and Registration

1. Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android).
2. Register for a new account or log in with an existing one.

5.2. Adding the Device

1. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
2. Tap the '+' icon in the top right corner to add a device.
3. Select 'Valve Controller' or search for the device type.
4. Follow the in-app instructions to put the device into pairing mode (usually by pressing and holding a button on the controller until an indicator light flashes rapidly).
5. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network credentials. The device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
6. Wait for the app to discover and connect to the device. Once connected, you can rename the device for easier identification.

6. Operation

6.1. Manual Control

In case of power outage or if you need to manually operate the valve, pull the clutch ring on the controller. This disengages the motor, allowing you to manually turn the valve handle. Release the ring to re-engage the motor.

6.2. App Control

From the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, select your valve controller. You will see options to open or close the valve. Tap the respective button to control the valve remotely.

6.3. Voice Control

Integrate the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Once linked, you can use voice commands such as:

• "Alexa, open [Valve Name]"
• "Hey Google, close [Valve Name]"

6.4. Timing Control

Within the app, navigate to the device settings and locate the 'Timer' or 'Schedule' function. Here you can set specific times for the valve to open or close automatically, for example, for garden irrigation.

6.5. Leak Detection Linkage

The Haozee Smart Valve Controller can be linked with other Tuya-compatible smart sensors, such as water leak detectors or gas sensors. When a linked sensor detects an anomaly (e.g., water leak, gas leak), it can trigger the valve controller to automatically shut off the corresponding valve.

7. Maintenance

• Periodically check the physical installation to ensure the controller remains securely mounted.
• Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
• Test the valve operation through the app periodically to ensure functionality.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not powering on: Check the power adapter connection and the electrical outlet. Ensure the adapter is securely plugged into both the device and the wall.
• Cannot connect to Wi-Fi:
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
  • Restart your router and try pairing again.
• Valve not responding to app commands:
  • Check if the device is connected to Wi-Fi (indicator light status).
  • Ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
  • Verify the physical installation allows the controller to move the valve handle freely.
• Voice control not working: Ensure the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app is correctly linked to your Alexa or Google Assistant account and the device name is recognized.
