Setup and Assembly
- Unfolding the Legs: Gently pull the tripod legs outwards until they click into one of the three available angle positions. The legs are designed to lock securely.
- Adjusting Leg Angles: The tripod offers three leg angle positions for varied stability and height. To change the angle, press the small buttons near the leg hinges and reposition the legs.
- Attaching the Quick Release Plate: The Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate is designed for rapid attachment. Slide your camera or device onto the plate and secure it using the screw.
- Mounting Your Device: Open the clamp on the ball head by turning the thumb wheel. Insert the quick-release plate with your device into the clamp and tighten the thumb wheel until secure.

Operating Instructions
- Ball Head Adjustment: To adjust the angle of your mounted device, loosen the large knob on the ball head. Position your device as desired, then tighten the knob to secure it. The ball head allows for 360° rotation and tilting.
- Panning Adjustment: For smooth horizontal panning, loosen the smaller knob located at the base of the ball head. This allows the head to rotate 360° independently of the legs. Tighten to lock the panning position.
- Center Column Extension: The tripod features a small adjustable center column. Twist the dial below the ball head to unlock and extend or retract the center column for minor height adjustments. Tighten the dial to lock it in place.
- Low-Profile Shooting: For extremely low-angle shots, the center column can be fully removed by unscrewing it. The ball head can then be directly attached to the tripod base, allowing the legs to spread wide for a very low setup.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity of your SmallRig Mini Tripod, keep it clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Store the tripod in a dry place away from extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- Legs feel loose or too tight: The leg hinges can be adjusted using a standard Allen wrench. If the legs are too loose or too tight, you can tighten or loosen the screws at the hinges to achieve your preferred tension.
- Tripod not stable at 130° leg angle: Please note that the leg screws should not be adjusted for leg angle. The tripod is designed to stand stably when the legs are set at 130°. For tripods with leg angle notches/locks, refer to model BUT2666.
- Ball head knob interferes with folded legs: When folding the tripod for storage, ensure the ball head knob is positioned to allow the legs to fold flush against the body. A slight adjustment of the ball head may be necessary.
