Setup and First Use
Before using your Mueller Ultra Coffee Maker for the first time, it is important to perform an initial cleaning cycle to remove any manufacturing residues and ensure optimal coffee flavor.
Initial Cleaning:
- Unpack all components and remove any packaging materials.
- Wash the carafe, lid, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the 12-cup mark.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle without coffee grounds.
- Allow the full cycle to complete. Discard the water from the carafe.
- Repeat this process at least 3-6 times to ensure all manufacturing residues are flushed out.

Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew coffee with your Mueller Ultra Coffee Maker.
Brewing Coffee:
- Open the top lid of the coffee maker.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to your desired level, using the water gauge on the side.
- Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. Close the lid.
- Ensure the empty carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate.
- Press the STRENGTH button to select your preferred brew strength (Regular or Bold).
- Press the ON/OFF button to begin brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.

Setting the Delay Brew Function:
- Set the current time using the HOUR and MINUTE buttons.
- Press the PROGRAM button. The display will show "PROGRAM".
- Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set your desired brew start time.
- Press the DELAY BREW button. The indicator light will turn on, confirming the delay brew is set.
- The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the programmed time.

Pause and Serve Function:
The pause and serve feature allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete. Simply remove the carafe from the warming plate. The brewing will temporarily stop. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 30 seconds to resume brewing and prevent overflow.

Keep Warm Function:
After brewing is complete, the coffee maker automatically enters a keep-warm mode, maintaining the coffee's temperature for up to 2 hours. After 2 hours, the appliance will automatically shut off for safety and energy saving.

Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your coffee maker and ensure the best coffee taste.
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do not immerse the coffee maker's main unit in water or any other liquid.
Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal):
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, depending on water hardness.
- Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle.
- After about 5 minutes, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
- Turn the coffee maker back on and let the cycle complete.
- Discard the vinegar solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
- Run 2-3 cycles with clean water only to flush out any remaining vinegar taste.
