Step 2: Install Output Jack
Insert the output jack into its designated hole on the side of the guitar body and secure it with the provided screws.
Step 3: Wire Controls and Pickups

Step 4: Attach Bridge Assembly
Position the bridge assembly over the rear pickup cavity and align it with the pre-drilled holes. Secure it firmly with the appropriate screws.
Step 5: Attach Neck to Body
Carefully insert the neck into the neck pocket of the body. Place the neck plate over the four holes on the back of the body and secure the neck using the long screws provided.
Step 6: String the Guitar
Install the strings by feeding them through the bridge and winding them onto the tuning machines. Use a string winder for convenience.
Step 7: Basic Setup
After stringing, perform basic setup adjustments for optimal playability. This includes:
- Action Adjustment: Adjust the height of the bridge saddles to achieve your desired string action.
- Intonation Adjustment: Use a tuner to set the intonation by adjusting the saddle screws so that the fretted note at the 12th fret matches the harmonic at the 12th fret.
- Truss Rod Adjustment: If necessary, adjust the truss rod to achieve proper neck relief. This is typically done with an Allen key.
Operating Your Electric Guitar
Once assembled and set up, your BexGears electric guitar is ready to play.
- Connecting to an Amplifier: Use a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable to connect the guitar's output jack to an amplifier.
- Volume and Tone Controls: Use the volume knob to control the overall output level and the tone knob to adjust the treble response.
- Pickup Selector Switch: The 3-way switch allows you to select between the neck pickup, bridge pickup, or both pickups combined, offering different tonal characteristics.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your guitar.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the body, neck, and strings with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Use guitar-specific cleaning products for deeper cleaning.
- String Replacement: Replace strings regularly, typically every 1-3 months depending on usage, to maintain tone and playability.
- Fretboard Care: Condition the composite ebony fingerboard periodically with a suitable fretboard oil to prevent drying and cracking.
- Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws and nuts for tightness, especially on the tuning machines, bridge, and neck plate.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Sound | Loose wiring connection, faulty cable, amplifier issues. | Check all wiring connections, test with a different cable/amplifier. |
| Buzzing Strings | Low action, uneven frets, incorrect neck relief. | Adjust saddle height, check neck relief (truss rod), or consult a guitar technician for fret leveling. |
| Poor Tuning Stability | Improper string winding, loose tuning machines, worn nut. | Ensure strings are wound correctly, tighten tuning machine screws, lubricate or replace the nut if worn. |
| Weak Output | Pickup height too low, faulty pickup. | Adjust pickup height closer to the strings, check pickup wiring. |
