Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Archer AX11000 router for the first time.
- Unpack the Router: Carefully remove the router, power adapter, and Ethernet cable from the packaging.
- Position the Router: Place the router in a central location to ensure optimal Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home or office. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or appliances that may cause interference.
- Connect to Power: Connect the power adapter to the router's power port and plug the other end into an electrical outlet. The power LED on the router should illuminate.
- Connect to Modem: Connect one end of the provided Ethernet cable to the 2.5 Gbps WAN port (blue) on the router and the other end to your modem's Ethernet port.
- Connect Devices: For wired connections, connect your computers or other network devices to any of the 8 Gigabit LAN ports (yellow) on the router using Ethernet cables.

Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Archer AX11000 router, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install the latest firmware updates through the router's web management interface or the TP-Link Tether app. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, security patches, and new features.
- Proper Ventilation: Ensure the router is placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not cover the ventilation holes or place the router in an enclosed space, as this can lead to overheating.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the router's exterior with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust buildup, which can impede airflow.
- Restarting: If you experience network issues, a simple restart of the router (by unplugging and replugging the power adapter) can often resolve minor glitches.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Archer AX11000 router, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Internet Access:
- Check if your modem is working correctly.
- Ensure the Ethernet cable from the modem is securely connected to the router's blue WAN port.
- Restart both your modem and router.
- Wi-Fi Disconnections or Slow Speeds:
- Try moving your device closer to the router.
- Ensure there are no major obstructions or sources of interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones) near the router.
- Check if your devices are connected to the appropriate Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz for range, 5 GHz for speed).
- Update your device's wireless adapter drivers.
- Cannot Access Router Management Page:
- Ensure your device is connected to the router's network.
- Verify that you are typing http://tplinkwifi.net correctly in the browser's address bar.
- Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or use a different browser.
- Forgot Router Login Password:
- If you cannot recall your login password, you may need to perform a factory reset on the router. This will revert all settings to their default values, and you will need to reconfigure the router. To factory reset, press and hold the Reset button on the router for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash.
