Maintenance
Changing the Dust Bag
The dust bag should be changed when the dust bag indicator fills up, or when suction power noticeably decreases. Use only genuine Miele AirClean 3D Efficiency FJM dust bags.
- Switch off the vacuum cleaner and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Open the dust bag compartment lid.
- The dust bag automatically closes when removed. Pull the dust bag out by the collar.
- Insert a new Miele AirClean 3D Efficiency FJM dust bag, ensuring it sits firmly in the holder.
- Close the dust bag compartment lid until it clicks into place.

Replacing Filters
Your vacuum cleaner has two filters that require periodic replacement: the motor filter and the AirClean exhaust filter.
- Motor Filter: This filter protects the motor from dust. It should be replaced every time you use a new pack of dust bags (typically 4 dust bags). It is located behind the dust bag.
- AirClean Exhaust Filter: This filter cleans the air expelled from the vacuum. It should be replaced approximately once a year, or more frequently with heavy use. It is located in a separate compartment, usually at the rear of the vacuum.
Refer to the diagrams in your physical manual for exact filter locations and replacement procedures.
Cleaning the Vacuum Cleaner
- Wipe the exterior of the vacuum cleaner with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check the floorheads and accessories for tangled hair, threads, or debris and remove them.
