Setup and Installation

  5. Ventilation: This dryer requires external venting. Connect the included exhaust connector to the dryer's exhaust port. Attach a 4-inch dryer vent hose (not included) to the connector and route it to an outdoor vent. Proper venting is crucial to prevent humidity buildup and ensure efficient drying.

Operating Instructions

Operating your BLACK+DECKER compact dryer is straightforward:

  1. Loading Laundry: Open the front-loading transparent lid. For optimal drying and to ensure clothes come out fluffy, fill the stainless steel drum approximately halfway. The dryer has a capacity of 3.5 cu. ft. and can handle up to 13.2 lbs. of laundry.

  3. Selecting Drying Mode: Use the control panel to select your desired drying mode. Available modes include:
    • Air Dry: For delicate items or refreshing clothes without heat.
    • Cool: Gentle drying with minimal heat.
    • Warm: Standard drying for most fabrics.
    • Hot: For heavier fabrics and faster drying.
    • Sensor Dry: This intelligent feature measures the moisture level of your clothes and adjusts drying time accordingly to prevent over-drying and shrinking.

  4. Setting Drying Time: Drying times can vary from 30 to 200 minutes depending on the load size, fabric type, and selected mode. Note that drying times may be extended compared to traditional 220V full-size machines due to this unit operating on 120V.
  5. Starting the Dryer: Once the mode and time are set, close the lid securely and press the start button (if applicable, or the dial itself might initiate).

  • Dry these items further in the timed drying mode for 10+ minutes.
  • Ensure the items are not knotted or bulked together.
  • The dryer is not located in a properly ventilated area.
  • Make sure your washer's spin cycle is extracting water properly.
