4.3. Install the Remote Lever and Cable

The SP-T13B features internal cable routing (ICR) and comes with a "Blaster" remote lever.

  1. Mount the "Blaster" remote lever on your handlebar in a comfortable and accessible position. Ensure it does not interfere with brake levers or shifters. Tighten the clamp bolt to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
  2. Route the inner cable and outer housing from the remote lever through your bicycle frame to the base of the seat post. Follow your frame's internal routing guides.
  3. Attach the inner cable to the actuation mechanism at the bottom of the seat post. Ensure there is no excessive slack in the cable, but also no tension when the post is fully extended. Trim excess cable and crimp an end cap onto the cable end.
  4. Test the remote lever to ensure smooth operation of the seat post.

5. Operation

The XLC All MTN Telescopic Seat Post allows for quick and easy saddle height adjustment while riding.

5.1. Extending the Seat Post

  • To extend the seat post, lightly press the remote lever while unweighted from the saddle. The seat post will extend to its maximum height (150 mm hub).

5.2. Lowering the Seat Post

  • To lower the seat post, press and hold the remote lever while applying weight to the saddle. Release the lever when the desired height is reached.

Note: The seat post can be stopped at any point within its travel range by releasing the remote lever.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your XLC telescopic seat post.

  • Cleaning: After each ride, especially in wet or muddy conditions, clean the exposed shaft of the seat post with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on the seals.
  • Lubrication: Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the exposed shaft and wiper seal periodically to keep it supple and prevent dirt ingress. Do not use petroleum-based lubricants as they can damage seals.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly check the remote cable and housing for kinks, fraying, or corrosion. Replace if necessary to maintain smooth operation.
  • Bolt Torque: Periodically check the torque of the saddle clamp bolts and seat collar clamp bolt. Refer to the specified torque values.
  • Air-Oil Cartridge: The air-oil cartridge is a sealed unit. If you experience issues with the damping or return speed, it may indicate a need for service or replacement of the cartridge. This should be performed by a qualified mechanic or service center. Do not attempt to disassemble the cartridge yourself.
